I haven't heard anything about an injury so I'm assuming it was a
scheduled day off. Plus, if you don't give your reserves some playing
time they won't be any help when you actually need them.
Only thing that matters is the number of wins at the end of the last day.

It was tough luck for the starters.
Middle relievers were no help.
Poor Upton. He was quite safe at first.
Why did coach start Rodriguez at second and not Howie??
It's not good the Angels, even if temporarily, lost the league lead in
wins...to TB!
Still, it's nice to have them home for a stretch.
Always preferred 7:05 games!

It was also tough luck for the Rays. It was quite astounding how many
calls went the Angels' way, with most of them wrong.
No wonder more than half of Madden's removals have been against the
Angels, the umps seem to have agreed that the Angels will get the breaks.

Ervin takes a no-hitter into the 6th, ends up with 9 Ks through 7,
doesn't get a decision.
Jared gets 9 Ks through 6, no decision. Arredondo gets a blown save
AND the win.
Congrats to K-Rod on his 48th!
GA: 23 game hitting streak: got really really RILLY lucky on the call
in the top of the 9th...and won it.

Dodger Fan Thievery

Stumbled across a video of Dodger fans stealing a flag from the
Coliseum game.. Then found another and another and another, etc...
What is hilarious is that it appears from some of the videos that each
of those flag poles had a flag on it and by the time the 7th inning
stretch rolled around, almost all of them were gone.

The Post-Dispatch review of the new CGI Clone Wars also mentions Mrs.
Eckstein doing the voice of the female Jedi. Was going to post about
this but Jeanne already made this thread (it figures Eckstein's
biggest fan in the newsgroup would make the post).
The original Clone Wars cartoons are a lot of fun, but the new one

I know they played TB after the sweep in TB, just forgot the outcome.
From wunderground, I see TB: 81 degrees, scattered clouds.

If my memory is correct, that was when the last time we went to Tampa. When
the Rays came to the Big A, the Halos beat them 2-1. Tropical Storm Fay is
currently hitting the Florida Keys so we'll see if the weather premits in 3
hours.

Weather permitting, the Angels take on the rays for three games
beginning today.
I believe tampa swept the Angels last time.....
This series is _extremely_ important. The Angels will have to go through
Tampa again in the AL finals.
