With Abreu's signing, that completes all three outfield positions. The
Angels still need to fill a void at third, DH, and a top of the rotation
pitcher. I would like to see the Angels make a strong push for a trade
with the Padres involving Adrian Gonzalez. Maybe move Morales over to
third and let Gonzalez play first. Hopefully Napoli will swing a hot bat
and the Angels could use him as the DH with Mathis taking the majority
of the time as catcher.

The Abreu signing was exactly what I wanted--2 years + an option.

As for moving Morales to 3rd, they've had enough problems turning him
into a fairly decent 1B and now you want him to start all over? If
they don't sign Figgy, then I'm assuming Brandon Wood finally gets his
chance to either prove he's a major leaguer or not.

Good for that.

Can you imagine an Angels team without Figgins? He's no Brooks Robinson
at 3rd but what a year scoring runs as the leadoff hitter he had.

Oh, and trade Brian Fuentes for Mariano Rivera. Rivera can field a bunt
and throw to 1st where a non-ten foot tall baseman can catch the ball
for the out.

Jeeezzzzz. What a disappointment that was!

Just like last year -- down in flames the Angels went.

Oh well.

That was Kazmir that airmailed the toss to 1st against the TEE, wasn't
it?

Anyway, watching Fuentes and then watching Mo in the WS again: the
Angels give closers tons of save OPPORTUNITIES; Mo may be the most
clutch closer EVER.

The only Yankee players I admire are Mo and Jeter.

Fuentes, OTOH, seems a cut below K-Rod.

Yes, it was Kazmir. My mistake. I was still mad at them both.

That Mo is something else. They said he was 40 something years old.
Still got a couple years left.

The Angels slew the mighty Papplebaum but in NY, the defensive errors
and lack of pitching did them in. On another plane, poor umping didn't
help either. Ever get the feeling that as a game goes into later innings
the umps try to hurry it along so they can go home?

Good, reliable pitchers are at a premium these days. Even Burnett and
Hamels got lit up. Well not 'lit up' but forced off the mound.

As the adage says, be strong up the middle -- catcher, SS, 2B, CF. And
have two strong starters and one killer reliever.

The best of the 2009 AL did it better than the second place AL seed in
2009.

And omedeto de gozaimas to NYDH Matsui, who may not be a Yankee next
year. We could use Ichiro too.

What about Molina? I can't think of anything wrong with Posada either.
Guy seems real genuine off the field.

Yea, I like Jose. I was alright with Posada until late Sept/early Oct
of this season when he threw a public tantrum because Girardi said he
wanted Molina to catch IIRC Burnett's games. He went public over it!
Like a real punky bitch. I lost all respect for Posada over that.
