Versus the Republican dream ticket of Obama/Biden. How's hope and
change doing in the polls Ray....under 50%. It'as easier to be a

Just wait for the market to correct (already happening)...jobs to start
being created...people back to work (Mass. unemployment just lowered by a
full point announced today)...and finally passage of health care reform.

This administration is not even a full year into the FOUR year term. Your
negayivity is duly noted. No one thought this was going to be easy after
eight long years of Republican mischief and malfeasance. This is far from
over. But you people keep hoping for failure and hardship for Americans.
Kind of unbecoming of folks that claim they love this country. Guess it's
all about loving those you agree with only eh? You have no choice but to
let the other side have a chance to fix this mess YOUR people made. It
really IS that simple.

No problem with a baseball analogy. But OFP was not declaring anything
except a refute of the foolish claim that such a ticket would
guarantee victory for the other side. So if anybody fits your analogy
it is your running buddy, O'Hara.

The left just laughs at her its the normal repugnots who fear her because
the dittohead faction of the wingut party is enough to swing a primary and
give them a candidate who gets beat in the general eklection.
a good example id the NY 23rd District which went Dem for the first time in
over 130 years.
they drove the real repub out and ended up with a loon so bad the repubs
stayed home and a Dem won.

The Republicans are deluding themselves by claiming victory in a couple of
gubernatorial races. As a Massachusetts resident, that is one position I
have voted for Republicans more than a couple of times (to my eventual
regret usually), in order to balance our overwhelmingly Deomcrat controlled
state congress. As I indicate...they have mostly failed at that as
well...though to be fair, that's partly because the legislative system in
Mass. is so dysfunctional. The REAL problem in this state is that the
Republican party sucks it so bad, they can barely get candidates to run for
legislative office. That's the only way to effect true change...you need to
keep either party honest. The same holds true at the federal level.

The Republicans at the national level are in peril of doing the same thing
nationally. I don't really think it's good for the country for the rival
major party to destroy itself in this manner. But that does seem to be
what's happening. A true exchange of ideas...of compromise...respect for
different viewpoints...is essential for a working, successful democracy.
Even within the party itself. This trend towards extremes on both sides is
unhealthy...perhaps even dangerous in the long run. We run a great risk
when the loons of either side dominate the political landscape. The
(sometimes violent) rhetoric escalates, even as those with the more militant
attitudes become more powerful among the losing side.

Just as in the sixties we had a fringe element on the far left, willing to
blow up innocents for their cause...we now see the same type of crap
bubbling up on the far right. Actually...if you consider the Oklahoma City
bombing alone...a good argument can be made that the loons on the right are
way ahead of those lefties of the Viet-Nam era in terms of sheer body count.
This garbage...inspired by the Palin/Beck/Limbaugh fringe...has to tone down
the violent rhetoric and recognize that people of all political persuasions
have a right to peacefully pursue their own representative political agendas
or people will continue to get hurt.
