Can you believe this? Me and my conservative friends have been
frothing at the mouth all week over this. So, in case you missed it,
here’s the scoop. Hussein Obama was in Japan meeting with their
emperor when he decided to BOW to him! I can hardly control my anger
just typing this. Sure the liberal MSM is saying that it’s customary
in Japan to bow to show respect and may even be considered polite when
meeting a peer, but that’s all crap. Once Obama decided to bow to
another country’s leader, he gave away all of America’s sovereignty!
That means if the emperor decided to give orders to the US, we would
all have to obey. That’s how extreme Obama is! He bowed! Bowed! In
Japan! If GWB were still president, he would have met the emperor
American-style: stomp on his foot, spit in the guy’s face, and punch
him in the mouth. Now THAT’S the American way of meeting a peer!
That’s why America was loved throughout the world when Bush was
president. GWB, god bless him, would have also started a war with
Japan if the emperor decided to look at him funny. THAT’S what we’re
missing with this jerk Obama as president.

Nixon did it...none of the others you list did.

Bush caught hell for rubbing Merkel's back, deservedly so. I'd say
this is an embarassing faux pas by Obama, but he keeps doing it (he
doesn't hold hands with the Saudi King, he bows to him). If you notice
the photos of the other world leaders, no of them did it in Japan
either. IMO, our President should never bow to any other world
leader.

Just take it and move on.

And that my friends is the best part of this whole uproar coming
mostly from the right. The headlines on Fox news about this supposed
blunder are hilarious!
Is it any wonder that Americans are considered arrogant and insular
by people around the world? Obama made the effort to show respect for a
foreign leader... to actually follow Japanese protocol.... an act that was
greatly appreciated by the Japanese and enhanced the view of our president
and therefore our country.... and the right wing loons can't be bothered to
learn one small thing about Japanese culture before they start ranting

True, "sarcasm" may be a bad choice of words. The piece is a put-on by
someone who is expressing a view as if he were a right-wing kook to
make the real right-wing kooks look bad. Like parts of Swift's
"Gulliver's Travels". If you pick a sentence out of "contecxt," it
seems like the real thing. That's the point.

Ray was talking about them both. Here is the first line of his
original post: "Every president does this you damn fools." Note the
plural of "fools" --- he clearly was referring to both posters.

The first poster did the parady (a lefty posing as a righty) , and
the second one (probably a genuine righty) got caught in supporting
the nonsense and then Ray got caught, not realizing that the first
"fool" was writing a parady. Oh, well.

Nice analysis. But if your language usage and understanding is so good
you would not have said 'plural of fools"---'. Instead you would have
said "Note the plural--- "fools", or 'note the plural of "fool".'
Also, one should never depend on any level of sustained coherency from
O'Hara. Does the word "parady" have anything to do with another bird
species, the parrot? (As in "Ray was making parady sounds.")

Good point.

I was at fault for not realizing that the quotation I responded to in
the last go-round, when o'hara was backing and filling, came from the
post of the 2d poster. I thought it so clear that o'hara was referring
to both that I did not go back up the line to check --- I have my
