I lost an on-line friend yesterday. She passed away from complications
of pneumonia. The reason I feel it fits here is that Barb was a long
time true baseball fan. She cared not about stats, or how much money a
player got paid but rather just for the shear joy of competition. Barb
was from San Diego (And therefore a huge Padres and Chargers fan.) and
the level of connection we made on a personal level was amazing.
Especially since our ages and physical conditions not to mention the
some 3000 miles separating us (I believe the distance separating us
could only be a couple of hundred miles longer.) made it certain we
would never meet in person. I did take a chance and called her one
night not long ago just in case the inevitable did happen. All I know is
that the world is poorer with Barb gone from it. And I am saddened.
Heaven (For those who believe, and right now I do, because Barb did.)
however now has a bigger cheering section, What an amazing tool this
internet is that it allows us to make connections that we never would
have before.

Sorry for your loss. Yes, the Internet does allow some people to forge
some rather miraculous relationships.

Sorry for your loss, Don. I've made lifelong friends, traveled
half way across the country, scored hundreds of concert tickets, collected
thousands of bootlegs and shared so much with a group of folks I've known
for the last 11 years because of the internet.... I'm constantly amazed.
Remember.... To live in hearts that love is not to die.
