Thank god. I actually watched IIHF junior *boys* hockey between the
USA and Canada, where the USA choked the game away. Canada beat Latvia
16-0 in a game...WTF? I'd rather watch the Venezuelan winter league
(if it was on TV).

Instead of having a shootout after one OT period, I'd much rather they
just keep playing OT periods of 5 minutes until somebody scores. I
prefer it that way, but the shootout is more *exciting* according to
the average fair-weathered fan, so what do I know...right?

Yeah, I agree with you.

I remember *years ago* I was at work (restaurant) and during the Stanley
Cup (not the final), the Islanders and another team were playing, tied
during the first overtime. Anyway, I got off work, went for a drink, met
some friends and went back to someone's house to find them STILL playing
in the third or fourth overtime!

THAT was exciting.
