Holy carp!
The last playoff game at Camden Yards was so long ago that I was working
at it, selling beer in the outfield club area. After that game ended, I
flew off to Wisconsin to meet up for a weekend with an interesting young
lady who I'd met a year before while the Orioles headed to Cleveland.
Our weekend went very well, the Orioles' weekend went not quite as well,
and they were eliminated from the playoffs, wiping away any urgent need
for me to return to Baltimore. I extended my stay by a week, and then a
week later, another week, and another, and so on...
...and five months later, I married the love of my life.

Not much can over come home town sports heartbreak like the love of a good
woman. Congrats on finding yours. Fortunately for me my lady and I were
together when Irsay ran off with the Colts. We've been together since I was
15, she 13. This year will be 43 years together as best friends, 32 of which
while married. Congrats and much success and happiness.
