I got almost exactly what I asked for. Of course, Jeter's putrid batting
performance for the sseries will be lost in teh same way that most of
Lemke's were following 1991, but I got to see the Fox announcers visibly
unable to raise their voices in excitement for the opposing team. That's
worth a heck of a lot :-)

Jeter demonstrated relatively good tackling skills at second base
throughout the series, though. While he's completely unable to go to
his right, he does do a good job of preventing runners from advancing
to third base by tackling them at second.

I pointed out to my wife that, had that been Albert Belle or Barry Bonds
behaving in that manner, there likely would have been media hell to pay.
Although the novelty of having either of those guys at SS would be kinda
cool ;-)

And all those old guys could do a complete painting on two days' rest and go
out and do a sketch the next day, too. These young chumps will only paint
2/3 of a painting once every five days, and then bring in some other guy to
finish it up and frame it.
