Colin
I sent Sidbury an email, but I think he's in the laundry room.
The thing is, the 18th hole (the first one) reminded me of Winged
Foot, 203 years ago, when Colin Montgomerie was *thisclose* to
winning. He purposely clubbed down because he thought the adrenalin
would cause him to over-hit and wound up coming up well short of the
green.
This time, Watson purposely doesn't club down and wound up completely
over-shooting the hole.

Can you believe that wasn't that long ago - 2006?

And I suspect the overshoot on the approach shot then led to the
underhit on the putt. Too bad. His performance showed that a 59 year old
could win it all, but he just happened to not do so.
Colin
He was on the golf course. He started birdie, par, par.

-- however he played like Tiger did during his blow the open holes or
Watson's 18-22. Tom is my favorite next to Arnie.
I was disappointed but was hesitant to root for Watson being an old
Nickalaus fan. I ended up being okay with a Georgia Tech guy winning.
