Can anyone tell me which sign of the Apocalypse it is when Eric
is the voice of reason?
Hope this helps,

Eric, this IS ASP, where the questions are made up and the points don't
matter. You have been posting here long enough to know that requests like
yours are a waste of band width.
Regarding the gun debate, the vocal opponents of each side are unlikely to
convert each other. However it is important to get their message out to the
undecided and bring others up to speed on the consequences of inaction.
This public debate is happening in a lot of other newsgroups and other
forums.

But Eric *has* honored the spirit of ASP; he has created yet another
tentacle of this ASP-gun-octopus-- or is it a head of the ASP gun hydra?

This may be ASP and everyone may be well within the rights to post what they
wish whether or not it relates to pool, but I'm asking everyone to keep it all
on the same thread instead of splicing the titles. I enjoy reading these
debates (on occasion) but I do not like to have to wade through the gun control
muddle to find pool-related topics on the rare occasion that I feel like
reading those.
I'm sure there are others out there who feel the same way. My AOL newsreader
won't let me delete threads separately, I must either read them or delete each
one individually. Currently, there are several threads with the exact same
title, this makes it a pain in the ass for me to log on and see that I have 60
some messages not yet read that all fall under the same or similar categories.
The same goes for all threads. While I know that there is really no way to
waste bandwidth, I think that splicing threads is a good way to waste peoples
time. I especially hate to think of a potential new member of this newsgroup
being frieghtened away when seeing multiple threads with the same title.
Continue the debate, just do it on one thread, that is all I ask.

I believe I already explained my reason for doing so in my original post. I
think that few people are reading the gun control threads collectively, but
rather reading and posting under the thread which they are using to carry out
their own semi-private debates. Therefore, I thought that under one of the
existing gun control threads, my plea to the group would just go unnoticed and
fall upon deaf ears.
Also, my request is not limited to gun control threads only. I don't think it
is necessary to have multiple threads dealing with the subject of body
piercing, just one long thread would do. I'm not trying to change the ASP
jungle rules policy, I'm trying to make reading this group a little easier.
