Just recently bought my first rebreather, a Dreager Ray. One got to start
somewhere.
Proud to start diving it this afternoon or tomorrow latest, I was asking
myself already on how to achieve a little more depth potential for my dives.
As I have learned the MOD would be determined by the bail out gas mix, I am
pretty much stuck on 50% O2, which would allow me only to go to 18 meters if
not allowing myself to go over 1.4ppO2, which ain't all that spectacular,
now is it?
Since the ppO2 in a normal diving situation, diving the Ray, thus allowing
for more interesting depths diving it, would it be "okay" to have a spare
tank attached to my "rig" carrying a second bailout mix, that would allow me
to return from for instance 30 meters, to a depth shallower than 18 before
I'd use the Ray's standard bail out gas to finish my dive?
I am not really looking for comments on how I should have saved up for an
inspiration or at least a Dolphin. Just want to make this a little more
interesting while I learn to dive using rebreathers....
Anyone?
Thanks,
Michel
what about buying a 32% O2 bypass valve for the Ray.
You should be able to order it through any Aqualung or Draeger dealer.
Best regards,
Daniel
