Having spent time in England and doing too many tours of castles, you
can add on these little tidbits:
You are right about the staircase, they also didn't use handrails of
any type to add in the difficulty of climbing the stairs.
The doors in the castle were typically made smaller so enemy knights
would have to bend down to enter the room. This allowed the home team
to smack them over the head.
Most entranceways into rooms had large ceilings, so that Knights could
wield large weapons indoors. It also allowed the defenders to push the
agressors back down the stairs.
The t's you see along the outer walls were for arrows to fly forth,
not for a design aspect.
The weapons you see hanging in rooms weren't there for decorations

I'm sure there is a good pun in there somewhere, but I'm not awake
enough to find it yet. Any takers?

There is method in my madness. Being incredibly shy, I am always stuck
for ice breakers, so next time I meet an intelligent, spankable woman, I
can say, "BTW, did you know that polar bears are left handed?" to which
she will reply, "my goodness, no I did know that, how fascinating".
I will continue my winning streak by informing her that a gypsy moth can
smell a female virgin moth 1.8 miles away. No doubt she will reply, "and
I can spot your type a mile off".
Not to be detered I enquire, "did you know that spanking is quite common
amongst adults, and that 70 per cent of male Australian spankers are
right handed?" Not being as well educated or eloquent as what I is, she
will say, "No, I didn't know that. Learn something new everyday don't
you?" I now reel her in. "Here, let me show you" and in a very old
fashioned way, teach her something new while singing "How to handle a
woman".

PS: BTW headkase, though I think our views may differ on a few things,
you may be interested in a website called Common Dreams.

PPS: I can prove that those moths must be British or American as the
distance given is 1.8 miles. In Australia we use kilometres. Just another
example of my sharp brain.
These are
great, fun facts! Glad you shared :-) !!!

Mike to be totally honest i think a man as intuitive as you would have no
problems meeting intelligent spankable women, i admit though that i have
never been shy so i don't know what it is like dealing with that,

It depends on the circumstances. If it is connected with business, then
there is no problem, it's like fitting into a role. On a social level
things are a little different! I blame it all on a 15 year old girl
called Nicola Wellman! (we were at school!), when she looked at my note,
laughed, and threw it on the floor.
Nicola, if you are out there reading this, I hope your cabbage is always
soggy and your gravy always lumpy.

I thought you would like it. Although not all the articles are to my way
of thinking, they are well written and present their case in a logical,
well researched way. I receive articles from them on a regular basis.
I have never been one to see issues as black and white. If I want to form
an opinion on an issue, I like to get information from both sides of the
coin. Sometimes it is hard to get unbiased opions from either side, so
one needs to use a bit of discretion in sorting the wheat from the chaff.
The above site is far better than wsws for example.
Mike
who is glad things never got off the ground with Nicola, as I dont want
lumpy gravy - I need a woman who can cook as well as she can clean, shop
and iron, while at the same time look's good when accompanying me to
business functions.
did you forget to mention spankable?

See, that's why I need a secretary! Someone to take things down for me.
