Hello,

i have an Siemens-Nixdorf Laptop, SNI 700 and a PCMCIA Networkcard,
Longshine 10MBit LCS8534TBA. After the Installation of Solaris the Link LED
on my Hub and on the card lights, but Solaris wan´t recognize the card by
installation. Does anybody know, how i get the card working. Does the pcmcia
controller work if the led lights.

Many thanks!

Andreas

The LED just means that the switch it's connected to and the card have
managed to negatiate link speed and duplex succesfully. In order for your
laptop to actually use the card you will have to find and install drivers
for this card. To do so, find out if it's compatible to one of the more
standard network interfaces (like NE2000, 3c90x, intel etc), then look at
http://sun.drydog.com/faq to see if you can install the appropriate driver.
Good luck,

Kai.

Hi - the card won't work with Solaris.

You need a C589 3COM compatible card.

See the archives - this question is asked once a week.
