Does anyone know the optimum solution for solar photovoltaic cells and
acessories for RV's? Does anyone have any information to share?

Like what? You can install PV Sloar on a cardboard box if you'd like.
I have 1780 watts on my bus/home.

Thats a nice wattage to have, do you recommend any particular type, I
heard of crystalline.....any particular make and model you recommend?
Any guides will be much appreciated.

I take it that's 1,200 "peak watts"?

Could you throw in what the actual "average" would be
over, say, a typical week? Including nighttime...

(In other words, do you get an average of, say, 200 watts? That
would, for this example, mean you get the equivalent of four
hours of full output/day. Yes, I know there's nothing at night...)

average rating (daily production) is in kWh, peak ratings are in kW.
Don't confuse the units. 200 watts in 5 hours of full sun = 1 kWh of
production.

a back of envelope would be to take that number and
multiply it by 3 for a daily total?

(more in sunny areas, less in norther/rainy...)

how do you figure? are you trying to figure a daily average from two
data points?

Just ttrying to get a back of envelope rule of pinkie
as to how much power (over a decent time interval)
we'd really so from a solar panel with X peak production.

From your figures (and others I've bumped into) it
seems like taking the peak and multiplying it
by 3 or 4 hours gets you a number close enough
to back of enveloping.

(obviously you'd have to do more work before a final spec...)

costs more but gives higher efficiency'' efficiency being perhaps
measured in candelas of luminous intensity from Sunlight leading to so
many watts of power

Still waiting to get some numbers and also a comparison of some brands
of photovoltaic cells/vendors.

or

Talk to Teksolar who have already done the work and developed a
modular plug and play system that will do what you want.

Their modular system was developed over several years to fulfill their
energy requirements of an outback tour business.
