Here's my situation:

I have a detatched garage that would be perfect for putting a set of solar panels on. There is a subpanel that runs back to the main. Can I do all of the wiring of my solar array into the subpanel? Or do I have to run it all back to the main panel?

Thanks,
Scott

If you know what you're doing (and have a licence to do it), I can't see why not.

More info is required.

FWIW, I have a 1.5 Kw array on the house roof feeding into a 3Kw inverter.

Like what you're doing, I should have put it on the shed, about 50 metres from
the house, and had it wired back through the sub-panel to the house panel.

(My neighbour's tree has grown a bit, and gets in the way in the morning).

Much depends on your local electrical code and the policies of your utility
provider (assuming you plan on back feed to the grid)

The easy answer is yes.
