Those traffic lights were designed to be on red for visitors, so that they
can get a better look at the city as they are sitting at the lights, they
also slow the visitors down, so they are less likely to get caught out by
the numerous accompanying speed cameras. Locals have override sensors in
their cars, so the lights are always on green for them ;-)

HANG ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your telling me that i have to stop at red traffic lights?

As for the red light cameras, im just assuming that my bus IS Invisible
judging by all the kars that just pulling infront of me or cutting in on the
453 into my breaking gap, had 3 kars do this in one go makingme one very
unhappy pussy!

My advice for mike is very simple if you need to get round the city without
stopping at any red lights, GET A PUSH BIKE! Not being rude, just that 99%
of the cycles i see in the city centre ignore all traffic lights,
pedestrians on pavements and zebra crossings PLUS you can also cycle the
wrong way towards oncoming traffic. Don't worry about getting hurt as you
can call one of them no win no fee lawyers as your on to a winner!

As for silly cyclist's i had one on trent bridge a few weeks ago in peak
time traffic going full pelt over all 3 lanes in between cars causing some
to avoid being hit,to go down radcliffe road with a video camera on his
helmet. Now this is just the type of person who will try, and no doubt sue
you after his film has been edited and given to the law! Look out for him in
the afternoon after 5!

PS Im a cyclist myself no im not being biased, just observernt.
