First, not a single individual has come forward to substantiate the media
driven rumor. Every left leaning media outlet is digging hard and not one
of them has found any shred of evidence.

Second, how dare you spit on those who serve in the reserves. Do you
think the combat groups called up for the Vietnam War and Gulf Wars
were cowards? Do you spit on those who are willing to die for their country
but were lucky enough not to be called up?

You act as though Clinton was wrongly accused of lying to a grand jury. You
act as though Clinton was not responsible for 900 FBI files, firing innocent
workers at the Travel Office, accepting money from Communist China, etc.
All of these things happened. All we ever argue over is why?

He volunteered for service in a manner that fulfilled his legal
obligations for service during the Vietnam War. He had no chance of
being drafted, and thus had no way of "dodging" that which never was
going to come to him. Bill Clinton on the other hand refused to serve
in any manner, received a draft notice, and dodged the draft.

If G Bush has no chance of being drafted, he would not have gone into the
national guard.
There is nothing in his personality or background that would lead me to
believe that he did it for any other reason than avoiding the draft. Does
it matter that someone avoided military service, it would appear no since
Clinton was elected.

This country now looks to those who would not serve for leadership. Is it
any wonder that the country is in moral decline?

And now NO liberals serve in the military or law enforcement. Maybe a

If the liberals are really serious about the draft issue then lets bring

anyone alive in the 60s knows that joining the guard [often requiring
'pull'] was a prime way of avoiding the draft. the youthfully indiscreet
governor softlife would certainly never had joined the guard in a way
that 'fulfilled his legal obligations' [weasel weasel] if he hadn't
been in danger of being drafted.

These chicken hawks who support war for other people but won't serve
are scum. And it is no surprise that the same type guy is willing to
discuss his own youthful indiscretions while sending other young men
up for life for making the same 'mistakes' he did.

Once again, it is the hypocricy. Let's be really tough on drug crime
and ruin the lives of young people for trivial drug use -- except when
it is me -- or the rich kids of my buddies at the country club. [how many
of the GOPs who are sending up young poor kids for life, have bought
drug rehab for their own priviledged kids?]

At least that's what dems are praying for. Oops, I said pray. Anyway,
Democrats will be in a world of shit if GWB is elected. The only area
of government they control is the White House. While Clinton has been
in office Republicans have taken control of both houses of congress
and taken control at the state level. There were 30 Democrat governors
in '93. Today there are only 17 compared to 31 Republican governors.
Republicans dominate the state legistatures, and since 1993 over 400
elected democrats have defected and become republicans including 2
Senators and 4 House members. Republicans control the present and the
future. People are sick of the Clinton administration and Al Gore has
nothing new to offer. The best the Democrat party can hope for is to
bring down whatever Republican candidate is out there by.

Well, joining the Guard today is a very good way to be forced into

To quote your comments when Clinton was being accused:
PROOF???

There is no proof. He simply does not want to answer. He
has the right to tell the press to shove it.

And it is playing well with the American people, especially those
under 50. Too many Baby Boomers, now in their 40s and 50s,
did some really stupid shit. A number of women got pregnant
while stoned (pot) then had to have an abortion. That happened
with regularity during the '70s. Sport sex, where you see how many
women you can screw in a night (you don't want your daughter
knowing about that). I knew a couple of women who, in their
20s in the '70s, kept records. One had screwed over 100 guys,
the other screwed 300. Not something you want your kids to
know about now that you are respectable.

And a girl I dated at Purdue in the '70s has been a judge and now
is an IRS attorney. She did pot. Not something I liked in her. But
she was my friend (and more). I would say that she does not want
that part of her life to come to fore. Especially that she now has
children. And she did sentence many to jail for drug usage.

As I said, most Baby Boomers are sympatric to Bush. Just today,
on WLS, Ilene Burns, the WOS (woman on the Streets) defended
Bush. She did the same for Clinton. She just sees it as unfair. So
see it works both ways. Baby Boomers want the past to be past.

Think about it. Bush has pushed his competition off the front pages.
Clinton isn't even getting coverage. And this is making Bush look
human. Now he gets to say that he made mistakes, but he learned
from those mistakes. That is every Baby Boomers' message to their
kids.

Except this Aug. 1999 not Aug 2000. It is so nice of
you liberals to get this out of the way so early.

This has the hall marks of being a set up. No one has come forward
to prove that Bush did coke, like folks have given witness to Clinton's
drug usage. It plays well with Baby Boomers who did dumb things
in the '60s and '70s. It plays very well.

Actually they like it. There is no proof. It is beginning to look like
a set up. Bush is getting strong support from Baby Boomers who
did really dumb things in the '70s (as you are 50 some year old

and learning from them is aimed at Boomers.

And even the media growing supportive. Ilene Burns, who supported
Clinton, now defends Bush. She just sees it as unfair. She works the

Be thankful some people still defend what you seem to want to take

You assume that because a person went into the service, lacks the

accepted to collage has no right to speak ?

They have the right to say "shut up", or do you want to remove free
speech from the constitution ? Be careful, you might use yours too !

I disagree. The second amendment calls for a well regulated militia.
If the militia is made up of all males between 18 and 45, as defined

we as a nation have an obligation to insure that all males are trained.

That was more likely after '68 than before. We had two Vietnams,

The military had 14 support troops to every combat troop in 'Nam.
Because draftees had the combat jobs, we hear more about them.
Yet, at any time, there would be 14 other guys not in combat positions.
Not that a guy driving a fuel truck wasn't more in danger than the

Still you are an old man. A grumpy out man.

SuperMasterSGT Dean wasn't really in the military at all!

He probably couldn't pass the psychological part of the exam,

More than one. He also tried to claim that Clinton was charged with
drug use. This guy's so stupid, I'm beginning to wonder if he isn't
from Bakersfield, or maybe claims to be a nuclear sub expert.

: No need to wait.
:
: Steve Forbes is doing it right now and it doesn't cost the tax payers
: a red cent.
:

And now Forbes is back tracking. He was on Hardball the other night.
Really being taken over the coals for it. It backfired. It has helped
Bush.

: >Oh, wait. Did we not vote to discontinue the Special Prosecutor? Sorry.
:
: You had better e-mail the Forbes campaign and remind them, Greg.
:

And way to early to matter. By the time the primaries come out
it will be out news. Smart.

: >And the Boomers seem to like his answers. Too many our age did some

really
: >stupid things back then. This makes Bush look like them. Smart move.

:
: Bush snorted coke to make himself a better candidate for President????
:
: May we quote you on that Greg?
:

No proof of coke usage. Just not wanting to let the press be the
usually tabloid media. The public loves it. Bush's numbers are
going up! The public likes the idea that Bush will not answer.
It is the same support they gave Clinton over privacy issues.

Too many Boomers with things they would like to forget.

: Now about your statement that "all Democrats are cock suckers?"
:

Let us see. Sticking it to the workers. Gun control and taxing
the shit out of any worker who makes too much. Forgetting
the poor. Supporting the college educated over the workers.
Moving to the right. Too many moderates running the party.

Not the party of JFK.

:
: Care to explain why?
:

Yes. Hard nosed on law and order issues. Pro defense issues.
The military is increasing run by individuals who are devote Baptist
or Assembles of God members. Law enforcement is very anti drugs.
As is the military.

And look how Clinton is in the pocket of the FBI. Wants to invade
everyones computer. Clinton has the ACLU worked in a fit. All
because the FBI wants more control. And the FBI got the national
ID system thru congress. The anti terrorism bill was passed. Is that
individuals that are liberal?

Does the police wanting to be able to stop every car at road blocks
to check for drugs and alcohol sound liberal? Here in Indiana, the
cops got the law changed to allow them to pull you over if you do
not have your seat belt fastened. Guess which neighborhoods it is
used in? Or DWB. Does that sound liberal?

20 in 1970. And most vets did not protest against the war.
They supported it. Wanted the ability to get it over. To
crush the North.
