In the only poll that matters, every majority member of the
House Judiciary Committee who ran for re-election won.

The American people rewarded Chairman Hyde by crushing his
Clintonista opponent beneath a 67% landslide.

While paling in comparison to Rep. Coble's 89% and Rep. Smith's
91% it was typical.

The message the American People delivered to the majority
members of the judiciary committee is clear; "Keep up the
superb work."

Ingilis is the only one that ran with the impeach Clinton theme and he got
beat.

Well, Inglis ran for a Senate seat and lost. But of course of the 435
House seats, only 40 changed hands, so it's not like this committee is all
that unusual. How many Democrats on the committee lost?

You misspelled "the people in Hyde's district" as "the American people."

Wrong twice: there's no way of knowing why people voted the way they did,
though I'd be glad to see exit poll data if you've got it; and the
American People as a whole don't vote in Hyde's district or Coble's or
Smith's.

That was 67 percent of one congressional district. I do not think that
makes for a national argument. What is says is once you get a congressman
into office dispute even youthful mistakes, he is their until he wants to
leave.

I hope this entire witch hunt help convince people that we need to get new
blood into office and get rid of those that make a career out of being a
congressman.
It is clear similar to inbreeding. New blood in family lines does
wonders. I think I would love to see a new congress.

None, but that's because they are in "protected" districts and are
generally ideologically homogenous districts as well.

That's how it works, people in the House represent particular districts.
Now how about the American people having a say about the Lib'ral
Democranks on that Committee ? Do you think racists like Muddy Waters,
John "Nobody's Home" Conyers, or Sheila General Jackson-Lee would win
in districts outside of their own ? Fuhgeddaboutit !

placed members on the Judiciary Committee who had no love for Clinton, were
articulate and versed in the law. The Democrats had only one requirement:
their wanks had to be from completely safe districts. Thus we have
screamers, ranters, shouters and empty heads on the Democratic side. In
fact it's embarrassing to see the level of intelligence demonstrated there.
If they had to run for a small village council they couldn't make it.
Somebody might get close enough to ask them a question they probably
couldn't answer without a staff present.

I think the Democrats misread the elections. They treated them as though
thery had been given a new mandate by the people.

I read them as the Republican voters staying home in droves because they
were disgusted with the Republicans for caving in on the budget and voting
for that pork barrel.

Strategy for the Democrats was to rally to save the President and it
worked, their voters turned out.

The Republican strategy was the moral outrage line and it didn't motivate
their voters who were more interested in other issues.

So here we are. All the "experts" are continually being proven wrong and
the impeachment process continues.

And is this true of the Republicans as well? Hint: "Yes." Members who
are in unsafe heterogenous districts will avoid the Judiciary committee
because it requires them to make decisions that might result in them
losing their seat. They will instead head for committees that get new
highway funds for their district.

Obviously you know nothing about politics. Crooks in the Republican
party get thrown out on their asses. Jay Kim lost renomination following
his conviction. If you bothered to read the election results, you'd know
that.

By the way, the Democranks nominated a convicted Felon to run against
Dan Burton. He got over 20+% of the vote, that doesn't speak well to the
intelligence of those Democrank voters, now does it ?

It's time to IMPEACH BUTTHEAD Bill & his little dog, Eegore, too.

Go back on the ATTACK, Bill! Greg Craig FINALLY began the winning
approach today, Dec. 12. He accused the GOPS of a PARTISAN process!

Which is EXACTLY what it is! Some idiot in the White House convinced
you to do the conciliatory, apologetic approach since the election.
THAT IS A LOSER! ATTACK, BILL! EVERY WEAPON! NOW!!!!

Tell the public that this is a PARTISAN WITCH HUNT, started ILLEGALLY
by an out-of-control Right Wing Persecutor who VIOLATED OUR LAWS!

Tell the PEOPLE how the Republicans on Judiciarry are LIARS who have
produced bogus, non-specific charges based on a fantasy! Tell them these
partisans are voting and CONSPIRING AGAINST THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE!

Tell the VOTERS "DON'T FORGET THIS when you vote in the Year 2000!"

Tell the voters you will fight with every fiber in your body these
anti-Amewrican, unConstitutional attempts to overturn two elections!

Say "Yes I did wrong - I admitted it. But the REAL wrong is being
done to YOU, the voters, by the Republican LYNCH MOB in Congress!"

Tell the voters "My policies got our deficit DOWN, our stock market
UP, and our economy rolling. The Republicans want to reverse that!"

Tell voters "I will try to STOP them RIGHT NOW, and I hope YOU will
help by giving them a lesson in the year 2000, because it's YOUR VOTE
and the WILL OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE they are trying to reverse!"

The public will LOVE it - and the Republican Lying Cowards will
run off like the Gutless Puke Cowards they are, the diarrhea of FEAR
dripping on their brown, odiferous heels!

GO, BILL - GO! ATTACK AND WIN! STOP THE APOLGIES- STOP THE DEFENSE!

there's something to be SAID for felonious jailbirds. For starters,
they don't, as a rule, go out and shoot melons in order to promote

Look on the bright side: by this time next week, either Mikey will be
whining that the GOP sold him out, or there will be dead GOP
congressmen hanging from lampposts, victims on an enraged citizenry.
Either way, it'll be a bad week for Mike and the GOP.

Because I just do. I'm a Conservative, and Conservatives are a
peace-loving bunch. They do not advocate hate and violence like
Lib'rals do. Conservatives have never started every Major war of
the 20th Century like Lib'rals have. Indeed, the GOP was the home
of peace-lovers and pacifists, unlike the warmongering Democranks.

Morally superior liberal weasel Zepp calls for the murder of his
political opponents. This fits in nicely with Lochner's advocacy of executing
Clinton critics and Baldwin's threats on national TV against Henry Hyde.

Gee, liberals would be scary if

a. they wern't unarmed and
b. they wern't all snivelling cowards like Zepp.

As it is, their little fantasies of violent retaliation on behalf of their
"martyred" President are merely pathetic and hopeless.

That is true... and their racism is as detestable as the white racists, I
agree and do not argue.
the only mitigating factor is their subjugation for 400 years, and there is
an understandable reaction. But that does not excuse it. Education should
help people of all races understand that the fact that one's ancestors lived
in this or that environment which led to physical adaptation to such
environment should not obscure the fact that we all evolved from more or
less the same population of hominids from Africa.

Interesting, that while reguritating epithets such as brown shirts and jack
boots, you adopt the Fascist military title of Field Marshall D.J. hahah
Methinks you should be proud of your fascist roots, and not try to hide with

Good.

That excuses them to act like racists ? A lot of people were subjugated
in one way or another, it doesn't excuse them once they get into power
to start acting like their former oppressors.

Fine, but I'm not sure where you are connecting racism and evolution.
What does one have to do with the other ?

Typical Lib'ral response, older than Sen. Thurmond. Of course, we all know
how kind Lib'rals are, all those 100 Million dead bodies from the Soviet
Regime. Oh, well...

I should state that no Republican President has led America into any of the
4 Major Wars of the 20th Century. Eisenhower may have mobilized
"advisors" to French Indochina, but it was JFK who began massive
involvement (spurred on by his bitterness at having botched Bay of Pigs),
this was expanded by LBJ, and we all know what happened then...

The title is German. I am half-German, my family has made considerable
contributions in the area of Politics, shaping the politics of one major
city (which has had an impact on National politics to this day). The title
also is an in-joke from another NG. The Field Marshal for truth and
justice. Since you Lib'rals have insisted on engaging in a culture war,
especially this week, I shall use the title. I have bestowed upon you the
title of Oberfuhrer (The name "Wulffie", BTW, is also a German one).

Nice try, Herr Oberfuhrer, but is you Lib'rals that have are the natural
heirs to the two great evils of the 20th Century, Communism & Naziism.
You practice it quite nicely.

OW
>Fuck you very much

Words of love from a Lib'ral loser. Always resorts to name-calling
when you lose an argument.

Have a nice day !

No, Billy, De Gaulle came to power in 1958 when the Fifth Republic
replaced the failed Fourth Republic (with the Algerian crisis causing the
fall). I believe Pierre Mendes-France was in office as Prime Minister of
the French Fourth Republic in 1954.

He most certainly was. That's the very first thing of value that
you've ever posted.

I wasn't exactly sure, had a glance at Karnow, thought I had it
in the neighborhood, and just whacked the send button.

However, Joseph Laniel was Prime Minister when the flag went up
at Dienbienphu. He got tossed about a month later.

Thanks.

I guess as long as we limit our discussion to politics in the French
Fourth Republic we can get along fine.
