Skyfall (movie review)

Though I've never been a huge fan of James Bond films, I went to see the
latest one, "Skyfall," today.
It wound up being exactly as I expected action-wise, with a few changes
to the formula to update the franchise to modern times. No more Russkie
double agents, this time the enemy is an organization headed by another
British secret agent turned traitor, who uses cyberwarfare to get revenge
on the head of MI6, "M", who we later learn had betrayed him.
The details aren't really that important for this review, given that this
is an action movie. The sex seems to have been toned down quite a bit
in order to earn a PG-13 rating. In roughly correct order the plot is:
High speed car/motorcycle chase
Gun and hand combat with villain on top of speeding train
Mayhem
Villain escapes
Bond dies (supposedly)
Opening credits with incredible CGI effects
Scandal at MI6 involving M
MI6 HQ blown up by mysterious "Anonymous" hacker as M watches from afar
The "dead" Bond, who is alive and well in some Caribbean beach resort
hears about it and returns to duty
"Anonymous" hacker begins releasing list of secret agents embedded in
terrorist cells around the world
A clue leads Bond to a villain who is known to be traveling to Shanghai
Bond meets the new Q, a young man who is an expert computer hacker,
failing to impress Bond (at first) for not providing him with enough
clever gadgetry
Bond kills villain in Shanghai and another clue leads him to Macau
Bond meets sexy but mysterious woman, who tells him he will be killed
Suitcase full of cash. Fight. Bad guys get eaten by Komodo Dragons. Bond
escapes and sets sail with mysterious woman.
Strange abandoned island with WW2-era concrete buildings in ruins
Bond meets The Villain, a former MI6 agent who was betrayed by M and
wants revenge
The Villain flirts with Bond as he is tied up, caressing his chest hair
and legs (Bond suggests that this is not the first time he's been
caressed by a man)
British security arrives in time and captures The Villain
The Villain escapes and kills many people in the pursuit of M
Lots of shooting
Spectacular subway train crash
More shooting
More high-speed car chases
Bond ditches trackable company car and gets the classic spooked-out
Bentley out of storage and drives to Scotland with M
Villains arrive at Bond's family estate and start shooting
More shooting
Booby traps and explosions
Spectacular explosion and helicopter crash
Bond kills The Villain
M dies from bullet wound
Bond gets the girl, his former field partner who has decided to take a
desk job as his secretary
Bond meets with new M who assigns him his next mission
Credits promise a whole new 007 franchise, which explains the character
and plot shake-ups

Bond had a secretary in some of the novels, don't remember her on screen.
