Thank you,
Chris
Just be sure to know the names of your treating MDs. The medical
cessation rate is considerably lower than the initial denial rate
because you have already established that disability exists and SSA
has to jump thru more legal hoops to cease entitlement.
At ssa.gov, I have not been able to find the cessation rate in terms
of number of CDRs vs. no. of cessations. They have in their Annual
Statistical Reports a breakdown of cessations and the number of
cessations vs. the number of people on the rolls. See for example:
http://www.ssa.gov/policy/docs/statcomps/di_asr/2004/sect03.html#table58
Perhaps if you have spare time, you can investigate further at
ssa.gov.
Relying purely on memory, I believe that 15% of CDRs resulted in
cessation, but do not remember if this was before or after the law was
changed to require SSA to jump thru the extra legal hoops to cease
entitlement.
If you get the "short form" questionnaire which is not actually a CDR,
be advised that 97% of these result in deferrals, i.e., your
entitlement continues until the next review. -- JW
First off, just FYI, mine took 75 days from start to finish for the
full CDR.
Second, I remember researching this and JW was correct, 15% resulted
in cessation att he initial level and then something like 60% of those
were overturned at the appeal level (or a total of like 8% total
resulting in cessation)
Thank you, I am so scare, it took me 8 yrs to get approved, my lawyer
appeal three or four times. All this hardship now they want to
review, I just woried that I have to go thru this again.
