When I worked on that horse farm there was this one email contact that kept
pestering me for a while. It found me via yahoo. The broken english used to

borders safe either. We are bordered by two nations that are not doing
anything to help us have a secure border; we have to do it all
ourselves and get raked over the coals for it.
And the simple fact that the leftwingers refuse to accept is that
there is no such thing as infinite wealth. If we are going to spread
ours around to the world we will wind up living a life similar to that
of the Great Depression. Forever. And I'm being optimistic about that.
My better guess would be more like the slums of Rio or Manila.....

Honestly I have a good friend who got caught up in this Russian Bride
scam a few years ago.
He was just out of a divorce after a twenty some year marriage and
apparently lonely.
He had mentioned some Russian School Teacher to me on a few occasions
and thinking to myself he was likely corresponding with a man I would
just smile but not say anything more.
Then he called and told me she was moving in next week and wanted me to
help him get some new furniture moved in. I did so and then questioned
him in depth about this woman. He assured me that they talk on the
phone, she is beautiful, and will be seeking to work as a school teacher
upon her arrival. I wasn't satisfied with his rather vague answer but
being he's a grown man I didn't want to insult him by telling him
outright about my skepticism.
Later than week he called from the airport and asked me to log into his
email to see if there were any emails from her. After providing me his
login information I checked and questioned him further about this woman.
At that time what he was saying wasn't nearly as confident as what he
had told me before. As it turned out he had sent her in the neighborhood
of $700 and she emailed requesting an additional $500 for insurance
because of September 11th. She was alleging that their government
requires an additional insurance on any citizens traveling to the United
States since the terrorist attacks but that they refund it upon your
safely landing. I told him "they don't care about their citizens enough
to require a mandatory life insurance policy, something doesn't sound
right to me.... then I asked to see a picture of this woman and could
immediately tell that they were studio pictures, presumably of some model.
It's both crazy and sad how people can see what they want to see even if
it is not there? After I pointed out that they appeared studio pictures
he came over bordering on accepting his foolishness but still holding
out false hope. Asked me never to mention it to anyone, I haven't and
nobody here knows who I am. Only about 14 months later he did marry a
beautiful, classy, well mannered professional woman and has been happy
ever since. So at least it ended well.
