appreciate the banter both of ya! You're sure right JtN, this joint has some new life. Wish I had the imagination etc to post about tobbaco "nuances", other detail. Will leave that to others. Keep on keepin' on all of ya.

keep waiting to wake up next to a beautiful woman I've never seen
before... but every morning I still remember she's my wife. <G>

Catching up on what I've missed in the last few weeks right now. But I'll take a moment to say thanks to Random for his old pipe site. Don't know if it's still up, but reading his words on pipe smoking were a revelation.

I've stopped caring as much. I don't even pay attention to how I pack a bowl anymore. I dump out the ash two or three times before I'm done. And I've never enjoyed it more.
All that fiddlin' was messing up the experience.

You've mentioned many times to just type in what info you can on any search engine and good chance something relevant will show up. My present Op.System came with "Bing" search but the info popped right up. Google probably still the best. (See my reply at tonite's Evening Smokes Thread). Good beans on this one.

corporation have both been gone for some years.
If something I said has led you to enjoy the pipe smoking experience
more, I'm glad it worked out that way. No point doing something for
enjoyment if you don't enjoy it, right? <g>

apparently the thing is still around somewhere. One of many reasons
that I don't like google.
The site is actually gone, as you'll discover if you find a link to it.
Unless the wayback machine has it or something. Or godaddy has been
giving me free site hosting for years without my knowing about it.

That's not the site I remember. I haven't trolled the new blog to see if any of the old essays are there, but if they aren't, I suggest random put em up some place else. I'll even provide the hosting if that's an issue.

when I told it to delete the old blog. The old blog was never any great
whiz. Can't even attempt to delete the archive since the email address
used back then is long gone.
As for the old site, the only really good thing on it was the pipe
pictures imo. Not much use really.
I'm not sure what it is you think you remember. There were a couple
small articles about smoking... how to pack, breath-smoking, stuff like
that. I probably have those around somewhere, most of the old website
was generated on-the-fly from .txt files, but the code is old and moldy.
Not sure what it is that you want, or why, or how to help you out with that.

I remember a simple site, grey background. There were some articles on smoking, for sure. I don't remember much about packing or breath smoking. Did you have a set of tips or rules or pipe "commandments"?

Really, the fondness I have for the old site is entirely due to it making me realize how neurotic I was (am). It basically boiled down to "don't listen to all that BS you read on pipe forums, if you don't enjoy your smoke, you're doing it wrong (TM)". Specific things I remember include dumping the ash from time to time, stop worrying about even cake formation, quit worrying about one-light smokes, and who cares if there's a little bit of black dottle at the bottom of the bowl?

Dunno, it's been years, and these days I'm not big on "commandments".
