I wanted to float an idea and see what everyone thought. Taking a cue
from The Wall Street Journal's Friday wine column, where once a year
they have an Open That Bottle Night, I thought it would be fun to have
an Open That Tin Night. On the night designated, everyone will open a
special tin/pouch/mason jar of tobacco they've set aside (perhaps for
years), but never found quite the right occasion to smoke. A week
later, we'll share our thoughts and recount the events of the night,
good or bad. What do you think?

That would be all the excuse I need to pop a tin of 1992 Blackwoods Flake.

Thanks to all of you who responded to my post. The lack of response
from others indicates my idea is a No Go. Maybe I'll float it again
later on in the year.

Take care,
Frank

*drool* I've got some 1995 Virginia #24, but Blackwoods is one of my
favorites, and my oldest tin Is 1997. Do be sure to report on that
one!

Nice idea, Frank - that sounds like a lot of fun, and just the impetus
I need to quit being so stingy with my older stock.

I think it's a great idea; the lack of response in some cases may be
because of the lack of aged tobacco. I think I have a 7 yo tin of
MM965 somewhere.

I think it's a great idea, Frank. But you're probably right, and there
would be more participation in the Fall or Winter. Summers are short
where I live, and I spend a lot more time on ASP when the weather cools.
I think it would be a lot of fun, though.
