Hey all, a friend and I just started a podcast about pipesmoking.
We're going to be covering all kinds of stuff about pipes and tobaccos
and just generally rambling on about this great hobby of ours. Once
we get established we'll be looking to do interviews as well with
people in the community as well as with carvers and tobacconists. For
now, our first episode is available on this feed:

http://www.switchpod.com/users/pipetalk/feed.xml

and should be up on Itunes, podcast pickle, and podcast alley sometime
this week (once they review it). Come take a listen and tell us what
you think!

Thanks for the show. I like the program length as well.

Hey! That was cool. I've never listened to a Podcast before so it took
a little research to figure out how to do it, but that was great. I
don't use ITunes for anything else, so how will I know if there is
another episode to listen to without opening it up to check?
I am looking forward to the interviews, tobacco reviews, and smoking
tips especially. My neighbor told me a interesting story about how his
father grew tobacco in the 40's and 50's. He said that his father and
uncle were considered real inovators when they started using tractors
instead of mules. I'd like to hear other interviews with old time
growers and some modern ones too.
Cheers, Benton

Well, you can check our myspace page when its up (working on that
now...) or you can just fire up itunes about once a week. We are
going to be expanding what we do to include trying to get all kinds of
interviews together, that's looking to the future.

Thanks for checking us out. Please give us a review on Itunes, the
more people review us there, the more people will find out about us.

This is great. Thanks. Love podcasts. You all should review a beer or
so at the beginning of each show, whether its good to smoke with or
not, much like diggnation.

We are going to be including food and drink elements as we go. What
kinds of tobaccos are good with what meals, beers and so on. Thanks!

Thanks for posting, I enjoyed the show! I was chuckling when you were
talking about lighting pipes in the car.

Please let us know when the next one is available.

Looks like we're going to be on a pretty regular monday release
schedule, next week's episode is already in the can. We're talking
about aromatics and packing techniques this week.

Cool stuff. I've been on a bit of an aromatic kick lately, so I'll be
sure to check it out. Thanks guys!

Just asking but what equipment are you using? There sounds like a
strong echo in the room. Don't know if thats the equip or the room.
Soundproofing materials are a little expensive but I know several
podcasts that have made "soundproof" setups. One involved buying some
dowels and sheets and putting them in acanopy over the mics. Another
person had a finshed basement and put some foam like material up on
the walls I'll have to ask what it was. You'd be amazed what
"soundproofing" will do to the sound quality.

We are using a boom mike in my living room. What you're hearing is
the bit of reverb off the walls. Now that we are getting into the
groove of doing this, Ill start looking into ways to adjust that.
Thanks for listening!
