I bought a Canaria d'Oro(sic?)Robusto out of curiousity and it was really a horrible, stale, grassy smoke with a peed-on taste. I gave it about 2 inches before I put it out. Also, anything Macanudo...I tried several when I first began smoking cigars and found them all to be very bland and almost impossible to herf, they were so tightly wrapped. I think the list of `Mediocre Smokes' for most folks would be huge.

How do you herf a cigar?

I tried to herf a cigar once, but the foozwharck was pefiggled and I blarzed it hard. Real hard.

I don't know about "herfing", but I have to agree about the Canaria. One of the very few cigars that I could not even get half way through. Strong, gut-wrenching, chemical taste. This thing does not even qualify as a dog rocket (I wouldn't do that to a dog). I threw it as far from myself as possible. I didn't even save the band to scan for my web page (which I regret because this thing belongs on a "wanted" poster for "posing as a cigar"-a felony). -- Scott Martin http://www.i1.net/~scottm/cigars.html mailto:sco...@i1.net "There are two kinds of people in the world, those who believe there are two kinds of people in the world and those who don't."-- Robert Benchley (1889-1945)

When I posted my other reply to this post, my spellchecker highlighted "herf" and suggested "herd" (as in sheep) as a replacement! Any connection there? -- Scott Martin http://www.i1.net/~scottm/cigars.html mailto:sco...@i1.net "There are two kinds of people in the world, those who believe there are two kinds of people in the world and those who don't."-- Robert Benchley (1889-1945)

I had the same experience with this same cigar. I went out looking for a Punch Rothschild and the tobacconist was out of them. He suggested that I try a Canaria d'Oro as a similar alternative. It was awful. I threw it out after about 2 inches also. And I will be reporting back to that tobacconist.
BTW, where is Skeeves? And is "herf" slang for something there??

To `herf' is to draw on a cigar. It's less vulgar than `suck' and not as misleading as `toke'. Especially when you're suffering through an impossibly tight smoke and you are glad no one is watching.
