So far, I have managed to cull down our photos from Tuesday through
Thursday of 13X-Day and label the selected files. I am uploading the
camera originals of these to alt.binaries.slack. (It'll probably be
another hour before they are all there.)

When I have gone through the rest of the photos -- which I figure will
take a week if I do 200 per night -- I'll make them web-sized and post
them in a gallery on SubSITE along with selected pics by other folks,
which I've been gathering from Picasa etc.

However, the ones I'm posting to a.b.s. are the unchanged camera
originals (mostly unchanged), which average about 1 mb apiece and are
much higher resolution than the web versions will be. Suitable for
printing.

Also, the web version will not have quite as many pictures, as I'll
probably delete the repetitious ones.

So this a.b.s. stash is the choice, cherry stash. I know, I know, most
of you are now "unable" to get alt.binaries.slack, if you ever even
knew what a binaries Usenet group was to begin with. But you'll just
have to take my word for it -- this will be the easiest and fastest
way for the real die-hards to get the full-res photos.

Dragging photos from single website windows, after waiting for the
high-res version to load in... that's just crazy, even though that's
probably the way most people do it when they want to save photos onto
their hard drives.

For every photo I select there are probably 10 that I don't. Wei and I
both approach photography from a slightly professional point of view,
since both of us are slight professionals. We shoot a thousand photos
in hopes of getting a few that are really good. Cameras are mean to
people's faces and figures. Most of us look kind of ugly in most
photos even if we aren't especially ugly in real life. Getting an
accurate photo of somebody is the exception, not the rule.

Luckily, I have been editing images for so long that I don't just edit
them, I edit the HELL out of them.

The stash on a.b.s. is edited, but not yet edited the hell out of.

So, I managed to cull our kook photons by two through worshipping Thor
on a thirteen stroke paddle mechanism and am now documenting the
afoirementioned quotum. I am pushing this for your eyes only document
through my bologna machine to the slack newsgroup. (It will probably
be one hour before I can declare total victory.) Yes, I put my periods
inside my parentheses and I am proud of it.

When I have lacerated the rest of the kooks, which will take a week if
I read 200 posts tonight, I'll make them truly laughable and put their
heads on the proverbial pike along with the leavings of other slack
regulars like Zapanaz. Zapanaz, yeah, you where it at man.

However, you may recognize that I am not really doing any work this
time, just average Joe stuff haha like Joe Cosby and putting the
bologna machine at one warp from web. Suitable for posting because the
kooks are dummies and cannot read.

Tonight, IMBJR is going to show me how to use my hand...

Well I take whatever I want, and baby, I want you. I want to have you
as my minister, serving as a means of command through the sift all the
way up to that wasteland on the surface of the planet. You are not as
dumb as those other grunts and there is a place for you in my slicjk
agfenda.

I just finished skimming through and labeling, not the soundboard
recordings that Pater Nostril made on CD, with his fine mixing, but
the ambient audience-position recordings made on my little slick
digital recorder (donated by rev. ZAFOD, PRA ZAFOD!!!) as it rested on
the gravel floor of the main pavillion in a ringside seat, or else as
it sat in my shirt pocket while I was at certain off-stage events.

About 2% of it might end up on Hour of Slack, since the board
recordings are mostly better, but there is the occasional hilarious
tidbit.

The list of files forms a rough, Stangcentric history of the 13X-Day
Drill. It won't make the least lick of sense to anybody who wasn't
there, but for those who were, it might help a lot in sorting out
memories.

are these all on a.b.s too?

No. Those are the names of pretty large, unedited raw files from a
portable recorder (DONATED BY THE GREAT REV. ZAFOD ROCKATANSKY) and
although they are MP3 format they are highest-bitrate and very large
files. Most are just "safety" covers of stufff that sounds better from
the board. Some however are "documentary action recordings" that will
be heard in bits and pieces on Hour of Slack after editing.

BUT!

I have been editing the soundboard audio of bands and ranters, and
have posted some of it on SubSITE in MP3:

http://www.subgenius.com/bigfist/fun/devivals/13XDay/13X-Day_AUDIO.html

The rant-jam stuff from Sunday night has some amazing moments in it.
Also everybody loved Crazy Jim Jones' impromptu rant which was on
Friday afternoon. In fact the rants that followed his are good too -
Pantiara, Rev. Skull, and Panik Bedlam.

At least I think that was Panik. There's some other ranting audio I
haven't gotten to yet but I have to get an Hour of Slack done chop-
chop and so first I gotta check out the first "stage" Hour of Slack.
In theory those will require less time-consuming profanity removal
(although a gang of women did a stage "Hour of Slack" that has more
potty talk in it than any men's locker room tape.)
