I read a biography on Darby Crash a while ago. According to the book he went to a school run by scientologists, who made everyone meditate and do TM instead of math. He dropped acid with at least one of his teachers. The environment seemed like nothing schools would be able to get away with today. Every time the author would interview people about it they would just reply, " It was the 70's". I asked three people at my work who were alive and kicking in the 70's what that meant and they all got real quiet. Seems something happened in the 70's no one wants to talk about.

To be fair, there was Porn Chic, when it was cool for couples to go to porn theaters. I kinda miss that.
But fashions sucked, as all fashion does in hindsight.
Politics sucked - Nixon followed by Ford followed by Carter.
But, yes, Disco. Ugh. Disco even invaded Country Music - *that* was how bad Disco sucked.
