I can see her lyin' back in her satin dress
In a room where you do what you don't confess

Sundown you better take care
If I find you been creepin' 'round my back stairs
Sundown you better take care
If I find you been creepin' 'round my back stairs

She's been lookin' like a Queen in a sailor's dream
And she don't always say what she really means

Sometimes I think it's a shame
When I get feelin' better when I'm feelin' no pain
Sometimes I think it's a shame
When I get feelin' better when I'm feelin' no pain

I can picture every move that a man could make
Getting lost in her lovin' is your first mistake

Sundown you better take care
If I find you been creepin' 'round my back stairs
Sometimes I think it's a sin
When I feel like I'm winnin' when I'm losin' again

I can see her lookin' fast in her faded jeans
She's a hard lovin' woman, got me feelin' mean

Sometimes I think it's a shame
When I get feelin' better when I'm feelin' no pain

Sundown you better take care
If I find you been creepin' 'round my back stairs
Sundown you better take care
If I find you been creepin' 'round my back stairs
Sometimes I think it's a sin
When I feel like I'm winnin' when I'm losin' again

Excellent song from 70's. "If You Could Read My Mind" is my favorite
but he had quite a few hit songs. Thanks for the memories. I really
appreciate you posting here.

An ore boat named Edmund Fitzgerald that sunk in Lake Superior. It's
mostly in the song words. The boat was long and the water is shallow so
it's believed that when a big wave came along the boat bumped into the
bottom and cracked and that was it.

Thanks for the thoughtful responses folks. I realize that posting these
lyrics here is a bit odd, but this seems like an okay place to be a bit
of an oddball. :-)

I was a little kid when "Sundown" was all over the AM radio, but I
remember thinking that the song was hypnotic and mysterious. The family
took a long car trip to Expo '74 in Spokane that year, and the songs on
the radio made a strong impression. Maybe I'll post a few more before
moving on.

Whatever you post I appreciate it. There's more to your story but
I'll never know and perhaps that is as it should be. I look forward to
your remaining posts if any. I am of that generation as well I think
and the young whipper snappers today have no clue. Thanks. And thanks
for the memories!
