America just qualifies to send 3 ladies to Sochi

With the final result from the ladies competition in, America will
JUST qualify to send 3 to worlds. The total of the placements
needed to add to 11 or less, and America JUST made the
cut for that one.
Who is going to be the third American lady to go to Sochi.
The top 2 will likely be Gracie and Ashley, but WHO might
the third one be next year.
My guess that the third spot next year might be Cristina Gao
if she can get more consistent.
Agnes Zawadski could also be contender for that third
spot, if she can just keep from melting down in the long
program.

One small problem with that, Chuckie: you made it quite clear after last year's worlds that USA had qualified only one ladies' skater.

In related news, USA also qualified three ladies for the "real" (International Olympic Committee) Olympics, but it wasn't as close as in the event Chuckie was watching, as the cutoff for placings to get three is 13.
(Speaking of qualifying, apparently we made a mistake in the men's qualifying; there was a second Kazakhstan skater in the men's competition, but since he didn't make the top 24, he was left out of the calculation we used to determine the qualifiers - when he is included, Kazakhstan gets only one men's skater next year, as do Ukraine and Denmark. The complete list will appear in another thread.)

A lot of folks will wonder who the third lady
in Sochi might be. It is almost a given that the first two
spots will be Ashley and Agnes. Being that Agnes
has won bronze hte previous two times, I think Agnes
Zawadskui might well be that third lady that goes
to Sochi, unless either Cristina or Mirai pulls off the skate
of her life.
US ladies are going to have a hard time beating Yu-Na
in Sochi. She is back, and had won 2013 worlds.
Another piece of skting history has been made here,
only the second time in history any entry has won
a world title for more than one try. Irina Slutskaya
did in by winning for Russia in 2002 and Australia in
2005, and now in ice dance we have Davis and White
winning for Antigua in 2011 and for the USA in 2013.
Among other things, they become only the THIRD
US dance couple in HISTORY to medal in dance
at either worlds or Olympics. Belbin and Agosto
were first with their 2006 world silver, the Shibutanis
were seccond with their 2011 bronze, and D&W become
the third with their 2013 gold.

now. I don't see Alyssa or Rachael ever in competitive
skating ever again, so I think that Ashley and Gracie
will be the top two going into Sochi.
Agnes will likely the that third lady for Worlds. If her
skating should really go to hell, which has happened to
her a few times in the long program over the years,
then the third spot will be a toss-up betweenCristina
Gao and Courtney Hicks.
As far as Rachael and Alyssa, stick a fork in them,
they are done. Even if either one does come back for
another season, I don't think either one of them will
get either a Masters of GP assignment next season.
Both of them are toast.

been achieved at Olympics, though some skaters have
tried it, going back to 1994
Cristi Yamaguchu, who won the 1992 gold for Mexico
was going to try skating for the USA at the 1994
Olyympics, but that never went anywhere.
Sarah Hughes, who won the gold for Australia in
2002 also switched countries and skated one season
for the USA in 2002-2003, finishing 6th at Worlds,
she retired from competitive skating after that.
And another attempt is still questionable. Evan
Lysacek, the 2010 gold medallist from St Kitta
was supposed to start skating for the USA last
season, but injuries have hampered him.
