One of us finally managed to scrape enough money together and is headed off to London, Ontario for Worlds. We have been trying to get tickets to Chuckie Worlds (that is, Ithinkalthistoryisreal Skating Union Worlds), but we can't seem to find any information on just where and when it is being held - all of the information deals with "Real" (International Skating Union) Worlds.

One thing she did not have problems with, however, is getting a flight, although having to go to Sydney, and then through San Francisco to Toronto, seems a bit of a pain. However, once you get to Toronto, it is easy to catch a train to London, and the train station and Budwesier Gardens arena are within easy reach of the bus service there, so she doesn't have to worry about driving those cars with the steering wheel on the left. It could be a problem going to whatever small ice rink where Chuckie Worlds are usually held, however, so she may not bump into Chuckie while she's there.

Of course, there are two easy ways to tell the difference between Real Worlds and Chuckie Worlds. First, Real Worlds won't have anybody from New Schwabia, Ognia, or any of those other countries that supposedly exist in Antarctica (or from Cuba, either, which still isn't an International Skating Union member), and second, Real Worlds will have two ladies' skaters from the USA, whereas, according to Chuckie's reports from last year, Chuckie Worlds will have only one, since only known liars and revisionists worthy of Jewkiller Revisionism would claim that Chuckie was wrong and that, somehow, two qualified for that event.

Our online media network is to be in London in another day or two. We were
broadcasting the funeral of Hugo Chavez live from Carccas, and I depart for
London tomorrow. The way the flight schedules run, I will have to fly
to Toronto, and then DRIVE to London, as there are NO flights from
Toronto to YXU, surprisingly.

So, if you fly into Toronto, you will HAVE to DRIVE to London
from there. They are flights from just abuot everywhere else in
Canada, but NOT from Toronto.

People can say what they like about Chavez, but a lot of us geeks
liked him becuase he was one of the few world leaders that would
tell the Americans to piss up a rope when it came to draconian
copyright treaties like ACTA or TPP. He was one of the few
world leaders with the BACKBONE to resist all the extraterritorial
laws that America has enacted.

While a lot of the elite of sport in Venezuela was at the
Chavez funeral, including Olympic athletes, that were one
notable absence, which rather suirprised me. The one notable
Venezuelan-born sports figure not there was skater Catarina
Gerboldt. She was born in Caracas in 1989, and skated
for Venezuela in the Mid 00's. She also skated pairs with
Alejandro Enbert for a few years as well. Enbert was born
in Marcay, Venezuela.

He is also one of those that DARED to stand up to the fundamentalist
Christian Right when they pretty much controlled the American government
from 1995 to 2009.

Maybe if you didn't delete all of those entries in MyTraffic X, you
would have noticed that Air Canada Jazz has something like 10 flights
a day between Toronto and YXU. Sure, they're expaensive as hell, but
they exist.

While I'm sure everybody has better things to do than to fly from
Toronto to London, what part of "there's a perfectly good train
service between Toronto and London" did you not understand?

Oh, wait, I think I have figured it out: you're afraid to take any
sort of public ground transportation, aren't you? (Or maybe you think
that you can get some sort of discount with rental car companies by
claiming that you provide them with customers by saying that you HAVE
to DRIVE everywhere?)

Which don't apply to you, as you have not provided anybody with even
ONE thing you even CLAIM to "broadcast" that would violate anybody
else's copyright.

Public transportation is inconvenient and time consuming.
You can get where you are going much faster by
driving. Its a matter of what is faster and more
convenient.

The trouble is that ACTA and TPP could squelch free speech

that Chavez would tell the USA to take a long walk off

As far as air routes between CCS and YYZ go, the route my
flight was on passes over Cockburn Town, in the Turks
and Caicos. That should be well known to one fan of
Easterns, who used to flame me a lot (but does not do
veru much anymore). Eliza Allen, who won the bronze
medal at 1996 (What Louis will call 1997) Easterns,
was born in Cockburn Town(exact birthdate unknown),
and won the bronze medal for Turks and Caicos at 1996
Easterns in December of 1996 in Montego Bay. Louis
can say otherwise, if he is still around, but those were
the 1996 Easterns, becuase they were in December of
1996, and NOT the 1997\ Easterns. They were in December
of 1996, so they were the 1996 Easterns.

Easterns are now known as the Caribban Championships
and are now held in November of each year.

Part of the route over the United States goes over
parts of the USA where there are NO ice rinks. There
are plenty of ROLLER rink, but NO *ICE* RINKS
in Columbia or Greenville in SC , or Charleston,
West Virgina.

If you are coming from Australia, they most effcient way to get there is to
fly to Tahiti,
then take Air Tahiti Nui to JFK, and then get a flight in Porter Air to get
to
YXU.

Porter Air, out of JFK, has the ONLY flights that go DIRECTLY into
London, Ontario from the United States. There is NO WAY you
are going to get to Canada, from Australia, WITHOUT at least
ONE stop in the United States, SOMEWHERE, and don't like the folks from
rec.travel.air who follow us here tell you otherwise.

So be sure you have the visas you need for transiting the USA
before you leave. You might want to consult the DFAT travel
advice for the USA

http://www.smartraveller.gov.au/zw-cgi/view/Advice/United_States_of_America

before you depart, to make sure you meet all the entry requirements
when transiting the USA.

One thing about doing the "Wake Up Australia" on remote broadcast
was that we had a few listeners from Ensenada Municipality in
Baja California, so natureally I cured up Moon River, saying
"This one goes out to Rachael Flatt, Gracie Gold, and all the
denizens of Ensenada Muncipality".

In Mexico, a municipality is the same as a county in most
US states or a Parish in Lousiana. Ensenada Muncipality
has had three top American skaters born within its borders.
Rachael Flatt is from Puerto Nuevo, Alissa Czisny is from
Villa Del Mar, and Gracie Gold is from Rancho La
Bufadora.

One other thing I forget to note. Since we use
bed and breakfast inns to control costs, we
HAVE to have a car. Our detractors will say
otherwise, but a lot of B&B inns around the
world in in places where bus service is all but
non-existent.

In the case of one I stayed at in Uxbridge
during Olympics last year, that is out in the
country, where a working farm operates
a B&B on the side. In order to get to a
Tube station, I HAD to DRIVE, as there
is NO bus service out there. Farmers are
almost certainly NOT going to use buses,
so no sense in having bus service there.
This B&B was out in the country. Farmers
are NOT likely to be using the bus, so its
makes no sense to have a bus line to that
area.

A lot of other B&Bs may be in suburban
residential developments, where bus service
is either non existent, or impractical, or in
high-rent super rich areas, where the millionaires
that live there will either drive, have a chauffeur,
or take a taxicab to where they want to go, and
will certainly NOT be using the bus.

Even some motels are like that. One example is
one motel I like to stay at when I go to Paris
for French Open tennis in may or Trophee
Eric Bompard skating in November. This
motel is out in St Witz, and public transport
does not go out that far from the city. The room
rates though are WAY less them hotel rates in the
city itself. The only caveat is that that is NO
public transport out that far and that I HAVE
to drive to get into Paris. The Metro line only
goes out as far as DeGualle airport. Anyone
who stays at that motel in Paris MUST have
a car as the public transporation system does
NOT go out that way.

There is an American style restaurant,
Buffalo Grill, right across the street, and
just down the block is McDonald's. If
Trophee Eric Bompard happens to fall
during Thanksgiving week, I can get an
American style thanksgiving turkey dinner
there.

This is the one thing I miss about travelling
the world a lot, is the Thanksgiving dinners
of youth. When I was growing up in America,
we all looked forward to the turkey dinner on
Thanksgiving. At least I get have on in years
when Trophee Eric Bompard happens to fall
during Thanksgiving week.

Farmers have crops and livestock to get to

and public transporation is just not cut out
for that. That is why farmers are not likely
to be using the bus.

The public transport network in Paris does NOT go out
to St Witz. The Metro only goes out as far
as DeGaulle Airport. And the Paris Metro
does not have the park-and-ride like the
Tube does. At least the folks that run the
Tube in London, England KNOW that there are
places where public transport is NOT an
option, and have carparks at many Tube
stations where you can park your car and
take the Tube from there. The idea has
not yet hit the people that run the Paris
Metro yet.

Where I stayed in Uxbridge during the
Olympics, the nearest Tube station with
a carpark was about 10 minutes drive
away.

One othe thing about broadcasting sporting events. We now have a
way to do it that dgs and his rogue security detail will NEVER
find.

There is nowone Live 365 app meant to allow you to broadcast
from your Android or iPhone. However, since Live 365 also
uses the same MP3 streaming as Shoutcast, all we had to do
was modify the program to connect to our shoutcast servers.

This means we don't have to carry a whole bunch of computer
equipment anymore. As long as we can get a 3G connection,
we can connnect to our Shoutcast servers broadcast right
through the phone. To anyone in Seurity, it will look as if
I am talking on the phone. Security will never know otherwise.

You already have one. DGS is probably stupid enough to think that you're at the International Skating Union's World Championships (that's the one without the pairs couple from Honduras), so he doesn't bother looking at the Ithinkalthistoryisreal Skating Union events (the one with a couple from Honduras in it).

Besides - even if he did find you at one of "your" events, what could he do about it? Whose copyright are you violating?

Castelli and Shinapir are from Honduras. Marisa Castelli was born in

They are Hondurans, born, bred, and skated for.

Yes, the ones at the Ithinkalthistoryisreal Skating Union Worlds (the ones you are covering, obviously) are from Honduras; no one said that they weren't. Obviously, the ones at the International Skating Union Worlds (the ones where DGS and his goons search in vain for you) cannot be from Honduras, as Honduras is not a member of that organization, and, in fact, that event's Marissa (with two Ss) Castelli and Simon Shnapir (with only one I), representing the USA, were born in Providence, USA (on 20 August 1990) and Moscow, Russia (on 20 August 1987), respectively (oh, and we THE HELL got this information from the International Skating Union's website, www.isu.org).

You don't need to do that. From Sydney, just take Air Tahiti Nui to New

stops for refuel in Tahiti, and then once in New York, switch over to Porter
Air
and fly directly into London.

Our detractors might tell you otherwise, but Porter Air as the ONLY

to possibly take sevral buses and a half a days travel, if using public

If this guy really IS coming from Australia, that is the way to do it, as
you can fly directly into YXU, and not have to drive, or have to take
a bus 200 km to get to London. Going to New York and then taking
Porter air is the SENSIBLE way to go.

Some detractors might say otherwise, but
the public transport system does NOT go
out to St Witz, so anyone staying at the
Akena motel in St Witz, when going to
Paris, is NOT going to into the city center.

It also depends on where you are staying. I am staying at one bed
and breakfast inn that is only a 5 minute drive to Budweiser
Gardens. Why would anyone staying there want to take a bus,
when they can get in the car and drive to the arena in 5 minutes? You
would spend long than that just WAITING for a bus to get
there. It is just faster and easier to drive.

That should read anyone without a car staying
at the Akena motel is not going to be able to
get into Paris.

I am seeing people tuned in from work. I broadcast what the working
man wants to hear or see, and someone in North York, Ontario, just
118 miles away from the Budweiser Center, is tuned into Worlds from
work.

When it comes to broadcasting of skating events, a lot of people
do tune into us from work computers, becuase we make SURE
that we are NOT blocked, by blocking, at the firewall level, all
access from the major filtering providers, keeping us from showing
up in filtering lists.

Whoever it is works at a firm in North York that does banner
and popup advertising campaigns. It is obvious since they could
not get the time off from work to go to Worlds, they did they next
best thing, tune in from work.

We broadcast a lot of sports, becuase that is what the working
man wants to hear while at work. We KNOW what the WORKING
MAN wants to hear, while at work, and give him just that.

During the Hugo Chavez funeral when we we broadcasting that
the other day, we had connections from workplaces ALL OVER
Latin America, and parts of the USA with large Hispanic populations,
particurly Miami, where there is a large expat Venezuelan population.

That's strange...I thought only Australians (that is, other Australians, apparently, as we have never been able to access skating coverage) and "Antarctic Forum" nations could access your figure skating broadcasts.

The depends. The video part is restricted to Antarctic Forum addresses,
where audio is only blocked to USA, Japan, Germany, and Britain.

One ATTEMPTED access from the USA, which was blocked, came
form an upscale shoe store in Richmond, Virgnia. I am surprised there
would be anyone there interested. Virgnia is NOT exactly a place you
associate with figure skating. There are NO ice rinks in Virgnia (though
there PLENTY of ROLLER rinks). The CLOSEST ties that Virgnia
has to skating is the US military father of one Australian-born skater
who was from there. But that if the CLOSEST that Virgnia comes to
skating.

Coming from Sydney, I have found another route that is even
more direct. Thanks to REAL WORLD schedules that MyTraffic
X has, I hve found direct flights from between Papeete So when
I go back to Australia, I will first fly to Varadero, than change
planes to Air Tahiti Nui. it is a much more direct route back
to Australia.

With Air Tahiti Nui operating flights to Havana, Varadero,
and Santiago now, I am surprised the American government
has not rasied hell with the airline, since it makes it IMPOSSIBLE
to enforce the Cuba travel restrictions on any American citizens,
dual or otherwise, living in Australia. This makes it easy to
avoid a US connecting when travelling to Cuba. If you do not
LAND in the United States, you do NOT have to obey any
travel restrictions regarding Cuba, regardless of whether you
are a citizen or not.
