Not all of it. I spent too long playing Scrabble with Val and one of
my daughters last night and they both destroyed me. ;-)

I haven't played for many many years, and I don't have the patience to
look for the highest scoring words. When I finally moved the
laptop off my knee and stood up I was aching, and I thought: this isn't
doing me any good physically, even if it's stimulating my mind!
Still walking, and dancing twice a week, or more when there's a weekend

I'm back too! We've finished faffing round driving all over the place in
old cars for a while. Himself had a lovely time.

Not a snowball's chance in hell. His fingers are like that permanently.

I did see him under the car checking it for drips and leaks in a brand new T
shirt and gave him a minor serve for that. All the other old farts standing
around gawping at the time looked at me in a perplexed manner.

I was neither impressed nor surprised when I saw him do that because he's
very like that little character in Peanuts who went around in his own cloud
of dust. Himself travels with his own oil pool

Good that you are being active, Gordon. That's the best thing
you can do toward staying that way.

Scrabble... I wonder how I'd do against my daughter now? Do I
really want to know?

And you didn't? I used your word "faffing" at someone today. It
seemed like the most appropriate word at the time.

It's nothing to with gratification. The result of playing Scrabble
against the computer is I now have a much greater vocabulary. The way
I cheat is by using the "Best Plays" facility the same way as the
computer.

I was gone for two weeks. I think all my other trips to Oz have been three
weeks. Yes, it was definitely a winner. I enjoyed everything about it
except the seating in transportation. For some reason, it didn't matter
whether it was a plane, a bus/coach or a boat, most of the seating seemed to
hurt my back. However, it was definitely worth it. I got to show my kids
some of the things I love about your beautiful country, and even saw a few
new things and had some new experiences myself. I'll go into more detail
later.

The back pain varied. Sometimes it was a dull ache, sometimes there was a
stabbing pain with every step, and sometimes it didn't hurt at all, or only
hurt when I bent over or while sitting down or getting up. Most of the time
it wasn't enough to keep me from enjoying myself.

Thank you, Judith. No, I wasn't able to see Di. I did spend some time with

I had appalling back problems and chest pains after that bout of
fillycoldy/fluey thing that I had a month or two ago. In the end I decided
that given my very nasty cancer history I had to have it checked by the
quack. The response was that I needed to do back strengthening excercises
but if it wasn't gone in 12 days, go back. The excercises worked wonders so
I've been paying attention to my back strength since then. It might be
worth a try as the excercises aren't all that strenuous. If you're
interested some are here but there are a range of others done by the same

Thank you. I'll check those sites out tomorrow. My back is still hurting a
lot, and I was thinking about making an appointment with my doctor. Since
tomorrow is Friday here, and I wouldn't be able to see him for a few days,
I'll try the exercises first.
