I agree. Sure hate to be in the position to have to boycott $10. or $20. bills,
or quarters...but I will, if this goes through.

It will be interesting which side gains from the increased vote, but the
4 pilot schemes were all in Labour strongholds, which is suspicious, and
the other parties will play the irregularity card if there are any close
calls in the results.

This morning we have been suffereing a blow by blow description of the
late Ronald Reagan's progress.
A comment from a friend "What a miserable waste of resources...".

You have got to be kidding, Marian! I would accept money with a monkey
face on it if it were legal tender. If it disgusts you that much, just send
all your 20's to the Republicans. They will know what to do with it. <tg>

I'm afraid you misunderstood my comment. I was referring to his
'funeral' progress which is dominating our television sets at the
present time....
It is difficult to avoid it if you want to see the current news
coverage.
I am quite familiar with his career as I used to go to the movies
qjite a lot....I also read the papers so I know of his political
career ....

If anyone walks by my open coffin after I die I shall sit up suddenly
and shout "BOOOO"!
The word 'ghouls' springs to mind. It impresses me more when people
come to see me while I am alive!

It's "Harridan".

I can't imagine why it would be of significant newsworthiness in
Australia. It's pretty big in America, but I suppose it is the only thing
happening this week, so the news networks can re-broadcast it for
free, and still get their advertising revenue.
Well, you have my sympathy. Personally, I think these things could
be wrapped up in a day or two. We have been watching it all week.
Much as I like the Reagans, seeing every detail about their life,
over and over, day after day - same details , mind you -- make them
seem like visiting relatives. I was glad to see them again, and I'll
be glad when they leave (grin).

I think I'd like to have a little motor that makes me sit up occasionally
and
have a little speaker in my mouth that says things like :
" Hi. Glad to see you. Don't I look like myself ?? "

How can we forget the Ollie North scandal. I remember the visions I had of
his secretary, Dawn ??, shredding all those documents. We never will know
that whole story. Belive me I don't watch him on FOX news.
But what will Nancy do now? Norma
It is on a hill where I walk regularly for exercise, as we used to walk
together and with a dog. Full of memories, and I get fit when I go to
visit, rather than getting depressed in a cemetery.

An interesting comment made on TV. He and Nancy planned his funeral a
long time ago and he even chose his favourite song to be played. It
appears that he planned a big send-off.
Could this be the movie-star in him? <grin>

Did anybody notice that Margaret Thatcher gave a curtsey to the
coffin....I thought that was quite unnecessary....

Therein lies the difference between Reagan and Bush's 'bull in a China
shop' approach to international relationships.
The program did criticise him for the Iran / Contra affair, which it
classed as a crime. Nancy was criticised for having too much
influence on his government decisions, eg, being responsible for
fingering a fall guy in the Contra affair.

You are out of date my dear, I understand that it is acceptable to use
