LIGHTNING SYMBOLS IN AMERICAN INDIAN ART

Bosh. These cannot be meant to represent real lightning. American
Indians knew what lightning looked like. It looked just like streams
and rivers, which they depicted quite well. They could have done the
same with lightning with only a colour change. Red instead of blue or
green, for choice (my choice. Lord knows what their choice would be.)

However, it does accurately depict the ocular migraine, which often
precedes the true migraine. And for some reason seems to have often
been regarded as a sign of the person being special in the shaman or
seer sense. Which I don't understand, as I get ocular migraine
warnings and I may be shaman material, but it's not because of that.
It's because I'm widely interested in many things and a little bit
weird. How many people that you know that get true migraines that
you'd figure are psychically or spiritually gifted? Hmmmm?

Then again, at one time epilepsy was regarded as either a religious
fit being the touch of god or a god or a result of a demonic takeover.
And they get some kind of auras, too, as short time warnings before
the event. I've only known a few people (that I'm aware of) that have
epilepsy and I'd not trust my religious and spiritual side to any of
them, either.
