It's not a make-up

smudge -- Melanie Griffith told photogs the mysterious dark spot seen
on the right side of her face this weekend was indeed a black eye.


Griffith was first spotted with the bruise outside the Neil George
salon in Beverly Hills Saturday afternoon.

So far, no word on what caused it. Melanie's rep wasn't immediately
available for comment.

Could easily be from more cosmetic surgery, if that photo was supposed
to be showing her "black eye", it certainly doesn't look like someone
hit her (as they are hoping to insinuate)...

She used to be so pretty, now she has gotten scary looking.

There's a scary explanation for the bruise that appeared this week
under Melanie Griffith's right eye -- the actress claims it was the
result of a surgical procedure to remove early stages of skin cancer
from her face.


But there's good news: Melanie's rep said the procedure was performed
in time to prevent any further complications.
