Michael Jackson is reported to have spent a fortune trying to 'buy' a
knighthood.

The superstar's former PR man Bob Jones has written a new book about
Jackson, who fired him last year after 17 years' employment.

Jones said: "We spent a fortune trying to communicate with the Queen's
people and trying to get them to decide to make him a knight and they
weren't interested."

As an American, Jackson would have been unable to call himself Sir
Michael Jackson but would have been entitled to add the letters KBE to
the end of his name.

Non-British recipients of honorary knighthoods include Bob Geldof,
former US Presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush and Microsoft's Bill
Gates.

Jones was fired by Jackson's brother Randy and then turned witness for
the prosecution at his recent child abuse trial.

"Michael Jackson: The Man Behind the Mask: An Insider Account of the
King of Pop's Spectacular Rise & Fall from Grace" is published in the
UK on September 30.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I'll say this for Michael, he is innocent. In fact, he's
absolutely clueless.

some may get an honorary one, if born outside the UK, and spent most of
their life / used skills in, the country..

you cannot buy one. yu have to 'earn' it, by being a nice, good, British
person...

MJ = 0 for 3.
