It said: "ABOUT F**KING TIME"
Why should I reconsider my opinion? I too have the right to express
myself, and since some are of that point of view, they should be able to deal
with it, just as I can understand their opinions, and would not even suggest
they think about changing their point of view, even though I don't agree. If
it had been me, I could have thought of a way to express my feelings without
using profanity. That's all. Obviously the cable station carrying the event saw
fit to blur it out. Please don't preach to me saying I don't have the right to
express my opinion, but courtesy for those watching, like my SEVEN year old
son, ( the event was broadcast in the afternoon), goes out the window, just
because they are *artists*. I'm glad they blurred it out, because my son is an
excellent reader...If they want to teach their children to be classless and
disrespectful of others, go to it...I happen to be an author, which I believe
classifies me as an artist, and I don't use that sort of language. I never
stated she didn't have the right to express her "joy", I just thought her
manner of doing it was classless, considering the diverse audience watching,
NOT just those *artists* in the room who probably didn't even flinch.....I
stand by my opinion. I noticed John Lennon's son in the audience supporting
him. I bet if he had the chance, he would give that statue back, if it meant
having his father back. I know I would. I know it is important to those artists
involved, and they wish to express that fervently, but please, a little
perspective...

I don't think it's got as much to do with
Stella being an artist as it is her still being
in mourning. There's a lot of anger
in the grieving process and, in this case,
this was a bit of it misdirected.
--margaret
Yes well, I can understand she is still in mourning, I lost my mom too, and I
was only seventeen. I too was angry, but at God. Until I realized it wasn't his
fault, nor mine. It just happened. And my mom also had breast cancer. I still
didn't walk around taking it out on the world.
Most people would not consider a cuss word "classless" and "disrespectful."
However, I personally sure do consider it tasteless and disrespectful
to accuse Paul McCartney of not being a good parent simply because his
nearly-30 year old daughter chose to wear a tee shirt that expressed
her personal opinion.
BTW, if you're so worried about the effect cuss words have on your
7-year-old son, why are you letting him watch a program about *rock stars* on
*cable*?

Maybe not. I'm not saying what Stella
McCartney did was right, just that it
probably had to do with her grief. I
expect she was bitter that her mother wasn't
there to see it. People have different
ways of coping with that kind of loss.

Then don't respond. Or is that too much for your brain to logically
process?

Well, leaving others to continue discussing the content of your posts,
I have to wonder if maybe they mightn't be a bit more well received if
they didn't sound like one big whine?
There are many intelligent, knowledgeable folks around this group, but
if one were to judge them based solely on your responses, one could
easily get the impression you are always right and they are nothing
but doodyheads who have the unmitigated gall not to accept every word
you utter as gospel. However, as there are intelligent, etc., people
around here, I don't think there's much chance of that happening.
No, you're not wrong-again, just...well, never mind.
