Name: Winona Hansen-Olsen

D.O.B: 4th July, 72

Age: 24....25 in less than two months, and my second independance day in
the u.s.!!!

Occupation: Hard one....I work for a burgeoning role playing company as an
administrative assistant. Problem is, this is a labour of love.
<Translation: No pay! ;) > I'm also looking for something on the side, but
I kinda like being a bum of my time off

Partner: Yes. I'm bi, and married to a wonderful person who had the bad
luck to be a man ;)

Favorite Shoes: Anything that is big and clunky, platformed, velvet or
just plain unusual. I usually get stuck with funky footwear I have nothing
to wear with them, or plain shoes that are ok for public, but boring for
me!

I suppose I should fix mine too. I'll follow up on the Canadian tip, and
let y'all know I'm trapped in our lovely Nation's Capital [Ottawa, for
those who are geographically impaired].

I'm another resident of Ottawa, although I don't consider myself trapped
here. I posted once before on reasons why I love Ottawa, but one of them
is the fact that I get to see Mary Jane Lamond, Laura Smith and Ferron on
the same stage this weekend!

I know, Iknow!!! I miss it terribly really....I've been gone for a
year and a half now. I had the bad luck to fall in love with an American
<and male ;/ > so, ended up down here. I'm not sure if I will move back to

So anyway, what area are you from? I grew up in the

I'm trying to figure out this last line...does this make you a triped?

i work a lot, and have quite a few volunteer obligations, but do try to
make it out into the neighborhood when i can. (usually with a
stroller...) tonight i was at kopi, and last night at coffee chicago for
meetings with other horizon's volunteers. except for artemis, i also
frequent the places you mentioned, and many of the restaurants along
clark. would you recognize me? i dunno. i was on the cover of windy city

Howdy Ali.... seems like old times, doesn't it? I don't have the time
I used to have to hang out here. The post office is trying to kill
me! I've been working 12 hour days. And I have only had one day off
a week for awhile. Good thing all that overtime pays well.

Well, I only worked 8 hours today but I have to make a carrot cake
tonight. Tomorrow the US post office comes out with the new *Bugs
Bunny* stamp so we decided to celebrate by having carrot cake and a
community salad, you know, rabbit food day? Well, it seemed like a
great idea a few weeks ago, but now, I would rather spend my time
doing other things than baking a cake.

BTW: Anyone have a great recipe for carrot cake? If so, how fast can
you post it? I need it in about 10 minutes. Well, I have a good
stand-by recipe book so I'll just hope for the best. Guess I better
get in there and start grating carrots.

Not sure what exactly a *rowdy* hug is but it sounds fun. Is it like
a group hug where everyone ends up wrestling around on the floor and
giggling our heads off? Cool! Come on Isabel, come on Catnip, come
on everyone... let's give Ali a rowdy hug!

Yes... I was told that is pretty cold down their... :( :( :(

It sure does! There must be some international convention against
working such long hours... or i guess, we could just make one up for you!

Bugs Bunny stamp??? yeah??? are they going to do sylvester, by any
chance??? Can't imagine why you wouldn't want to be spending your time
away from work baking a cake for you to <take> to work. (ali ducks
quickly before Chach directs grated carrot at her). ;-)

i have no idea when you posted this... there are a million cook books
here, and i know that one of them has a sure thing carrot cake recipe in
it, but i would have to ask one of the experts in the house before i
could gues which one it might be...

Hi Chach!
I heard that! And yes, sometimes they take foreeeeeeeeever! And
sometimes certain stripey animals should address them properly! But, the
postal people here must not get interesting mail of their own. (That or
they wanted to know what Hev looked like, too!) The folks who need
training from both of you are the Canadian postal people. I think they
still use the Mountie system and maybe Dudley Do-right.

It took awhile before I just took it in stride, but I have actually
learned to like the term...or atleast what I know she means by it. I
remember the first time she called me fofinha. I looked it up in the
Portuguese/English dictionary and thought, "no, this can't be right.
Fluffy????" But she assured me that it was exactly what she meant.
Remember that, Isabel? I shook my head every time she called me that
for awhile.

Summer has a wonderful way of bringing the world into a circle. I was jsut
musing on a local board about how the first few weeks of summer in a
college town are for reaquainting yourself with yourself. A time to find
your "groove". Summers are short and intense here in New Hampshire,
but..also here in asl. We lose some of our student writers and
vacationers, but the stories you all keep telling each other (and me) make
me so happy. This bbs is a place to take a mental daytrip.
So I am thrilled to see names that I've seen for ***years***. How freaking
cool are we? Shoe Lesbians RULE! I was in a chat room once and asked if

I love summer. I go out and reacquaint myself with neighbors who,

Hmmm....let me try to understand this. Let's see now. You followed
Sarah into a thread about learning masturbation by watching? Now I
wonder what you might have been thinking. I wonder........ ;-) And
I am wondering if she noticed you following her there.

This is a little like *outing*, isn't it? Although I have to say that

Hey ali, if I recall, you and I decided that down under is probably
actually on top along with South America and others while those of us
in the US should probably consider Canada our neighbor to the south.
Relax, it's all a matter of perspective. All I know is that it is hot
in the middle and cold on the top and bottom, and probably someone who
more scientifically oriented will correct me about that.

But, please, after all the whining we did last fall about approaching
winter, we are now just taking a moment to leap up and click our heels
together (virtually, ofcourse). We'll be bitching about the heat
shortly and you can remind us that it is fairly chilly on your half of
the globe.

Say, did you have any leftover sunscreen?

Careful, don't let Joules hear you say that... oh no! too late. She
takes it all very personal.

I saw something on tv a few months ago about a new camera system the
UK was putting in postal processing places. It looked like it was on
tracks in the ceiling and could follow people around corners and such.
Do you have that? I didn't even ask what you do. It probably makes a
difference in how much they can watch you. Anyway it was interesting
for me to see what the inside of your plants look like and it's not so
different from ours. Professional curiousity, I guess.

I work in mail processing right now just working letters into a case
by hand. It's probably the most boring job in the place but there are
several others that are close. I've done most of the jobs we have and
usually try to find something else to do other than my current job,
but they track me down and drag me back to my case once in awhile. Ho
Hum... That's life in the Denver Post Office.
