Most people who own computers and are on the net know a fair amount of
information about them and how things operate. They can also
understand these things a lot better because of their basic
understanding of how a computer functions and what not. As an example
picture some guy who suddenly gets the urge to be a pro golfer. So
instead of getting training, real golf clubs, etc, he goes out to the
miniature golf course cause he's getting a great deal at $2.00 per
game and he doesn't even need to buy real clubs.
I personally don't like webtv, I don't like them because they don't
really tell their users what they are getting into, and they don't put
any effort into educating, or training their users on what to expect,
proper netiquette, the do's and don'ts, etc, etc, etc. They push
these little boxes out by the millions to people who have never even
touched a computer much less operated one, and then put them in the
internet where 99% are a waste of bandwidth, and a constant annoyance.
Now I know you cannot see this from my perspective because of the fact
that you are on webtv. But it's much like in the way that AOL users
when they first started getting online would respond to 500 line posts
just to say, "me too." at the very bottom of the message and quote the
whole thing. I get on average 5 to 10 emails a day from webtv users
not just from the ab scene but from others, and they ask incredibly
annoying and bothersome questions, if they even ask a question.
I've gotten all sorts of strange e-mails. Everything from "I saw your
post, are you an adult baby?", to "I'm an adult baby can you please
send me some free diapers, etc, etc, etc." And I must say that it can
get VERY annoying, and VERY aggravating, At this point I've had to go
so far as to have any messages coming from webtv to my e-mail
automatically deleted. I'm not saying everyone on webtv is this way,
but certainly 99% of their users are.
