I am posting this in the general area to save my fingers!

Following are the names of the folks that have indicated their
interest in becoming part of a 7-person exchange for Watercolor
Quilt fabric squares. If you are "in" for sure, then reply
with your SNAILmail address (and a complete name for those of
you for whom I only have a first name). For those of you who
would like to be a part of this, e-mail me your wishes and your
SNAILmail address.

It is apparent that there are plenty of folks who want to
participate in an exchange. As of now, we have enough for
three or four groups of seven (I'll be in several, because
I really need some of the watercolor-type prints).

Please consider this as your acknowledgement that I received
your e-mail. I will post a list of your names in the four
fabric-related conferences in Internet to be sure that
everyone who thought they sent me e-mail actually did so (I
am still receiving e-mail with subject not parsed, author
not parsed error messages.) I am also posting this in the
RIME stitches conference, for those folks.

This is really exciting! One of you has already
participated in several watercolor quilt square exchanges,
so for the benefit of you others, I have asked her to let me
know the rules they went by and the pitfalls to be avoided.

I would like to have a target date of May 1 or May 15 for
the exchange. I would imagine that I would post a list of
the SNAILmail addresses to each person participating in the
exchange. Then we would mail off the 6" squares to the six
other folks that are in our exchange.

Obviously it is important that each of us understand the
watercolor quilt theory in order to choose appropriate
fabrics. I figure that each one of us would have to buy 10
quarter yards to participate--a total of 2-1/2 yards. I am
going to get cracking because the local House of Fabrics (a
local fabric store chain) is having a 50% off
calico/tropical prints/southwestern prints sale on 3/26.
I'll obviously have to get there *early*!

Each one of us will be "assigned" a colorway. We will
need to obtain the 10 pieces in the appropriate
colorways, wash and carefully cut the squares for exchange.
Is this OK with every one? I'll post more info later, as I
get more info in. A 6" piece of fabric will then give 9 -
2" squares, and this is easily done by buying quarter yards
(extra for finding straight of fabric if they don't tear,
and perhaps even enough for extra 2" squares from the
remainder!)

I *do* need your SNAILmail addresses! Please send them at
your earliest convenience.

My SNAILmail address is: 26467 Calle San Luis,
San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675-2323
Voice: [714] 496-4966

I think this will be a lot of fun!

We are in the midst of celebrating the return of the Swallows
to Capistrano! Big parade Saturday if it doesn't rain (the
largest non-motorized parade in the US).

Gillian, in beautiful downtown San Juan Capistrano, CA
