I heard from one of the sewing newsgroups that Burda Magazine had a
motorcycle jacket style of pattern in a back issue. I contacted Burda and
they said I could probably get a copy of the past issue if I knew which one
it was.
Could anyone tell me which past issue it was?

Thankyou in advance!

The link above may just prove to be more confusing. I was trying to find
more information on Burda patterns in the US, then thought, oh heck, if I
could just see what all the fuss is about. I know no German, and don't know
if you could purchase these in the US, but found a German site. I clicked
everything until I found patterns. The header 'MaBschnitt-Kollektion' has
some leather jackets. Whether they are what you wanted to see, I don't
know. At least you could get a peek at them, before you try any harder to
find the past issue.

Hope this helps,
Beth

Thankyou! I don't know German either but could probably figure out how to
order a pattern
and put it together without being able to read the instructions :)
There is one on there that is pretty close. It is more the jeans jacket
style and
I will keep in in mind if I can't find something closer. It's the closest
I've seen so far!
Again, thankyou very much!

Oh, I'm so glad you let me know it was helpful.

You, have actually inspired me to order a 6 month subscription to the Burda
fashion magazine. I really liked the styles on that page and am hoping
that's the way most of their stuff is. It looked like some very timeless
styles. I love that sort of thing.

Good luck with your project.

Hi!
I know some german :-).
Maßschnitt means patterns drafted to your body.
I do have all the past Burda issues, so if you can tell what the jacket
looks like, i can tell you what issue it is in.

Thankyou! Thankyou!
It is a motorcycle style of jacket with a collar and zipper.
It's the kind that bikers wear. For example, "The Fonz" always wore one in
that old show on TV
that was about the 1950's and was called "Happy Days". It is the kind of
jacket that is loosely linked
on TV to someone being a hoodlum or a biker and is almost always made from
black leather.
Often there are zippers on the bottom of the sleeves and sometimes the front
jacket zipper kind of
slants to one side. Often there is a waist band or belt. It's length is just
below the waist or just at hip length.
Thankyou so much for looking for me!

Linda (jlmilroy)

P.S. I hope you see this. I tried to email your address, but it came back
"undeliverable".

Hi!
I think that it is the 9/2000 issue. There is a biker jacket, made of vinyl
coated fabric. It's with a zipper and standing collar. I don´t know the
tv-series since I'm not american. I´m from Denmark northern Europe.

PS. i had an old email-address in my newsreader, it should be corrected now.
