Hi, everybody!

I've gotten lots of replies to my idea about exchanging 6" squares for
Watercolor Quilts! Hang on for a couple more days, and I'll be sending
you all a post.

For those of you who wish to be part of the exchange, please let me know
right away!

For those of you who are just reading this message and didn't see my
other one, I am organizing exchanges of 6" washed squares of cotton for
watercolor quilts, which has a very different color and pattern
philosophy than traditional quilts, i.e., no tone-on-tone, small
patterns, or patterns that make the blocks look solid from a distance.
The quilt squares are usually made up of 2" pieces of large- and
medium-scale multicolored prints in a variety of intensities and hues.
Folks who want to participate should probably own the book _Watercolor
Quilts_ in order to have the guidelines for fabrics.

Each exchange will be made up of a group of seven persons, each of which
will be "assigned" a colorway. Each person will purchase at least 1/4
yard (44" wide) of 10 different fabrics, wash them and cut them into 6"
squares. They will then keep one set of squares and send a stack of
squares to each of the other six folks in the exchange. A total of 70
different squares will be obtained in this manner.

PS: If you are interested in participating in more than one exchange,
please let me know.

I'm really excited about this exchange. My goal is to have a "due date"
of May 1 for the completion of all exchanges in order to give enough
time for everyone to purchase fabric if they need to (read "shop sales"
<g>).

It looks like there will be at least three groups of seven as of this
posting!
