I have now checked out the sources I posted and I see that only the Sew
Sassy has a fairly wide selection of elastic in different colors.

No, I figured it would behave like polyester and not accept dye.
For small applications I have used Sharpie markers to color elastic.
They also work very well to color snaps, zipper teeth & pulls, and
other metal items.
