Trimmer not working on Brother 1210AC

I bought a used Brother 1210 AC embroidery machine. It embroiders well
and cuts the color changes and end of the design thread but does not
cut the jump stitches/trims.

I have read the Instruction Manual many times but have found no
place that explains how to get the trimmer to cut jump/trim commands.
The Operation Panel thread sensor setting shows "trimmer is ON."
All of the dip switches on the Operation Panel Box are set to the OFF
positiion.
The dip switches on the Circuit Board Box are as follows:
switches 4, 7, and 8 are in the ON position
switches 1,2,3,5, and 6 are in the OFF position

Would someone please help?
I am hoping someone in this group knows the answer to my problem.

Dear all.
I have just bought used brother 1210AC embroidery machine. Can any one here guide me how to set up this machine. When I start up the machine, it starts well up to file no. And then up to 'reading disk ' that all. The light on the floppy disk drive illuminate but nothing come out. After some time when eject the floppy out, it whistle up with 'disk error' . Also I have noted that the the emergence stop button doesn't stop the machine as it should be. Is these have something to do with dip switches. At the back of the disk drive there some pins, are there any setting of it.please assist
