Personal Ad's seem kind of lame to me but I looked at some and there are
lots of HB's in them. So I figured hey it'd be good practice at the least
while i'm getting over my AFCness. Can you guys post some good examples of
how to reply to these. You know the kind, with some nice NLP and stuff.
I've seen some of Shade's stuff on online seduction but that's for a chat
room not really a personal ad and I haven't found any old threads that deal
with this subject.

thanks

This is a letter I copies from someone named BONES. all credit goes to him.
----------------------------------
While it is difficult to write a blind letter to
someone I've never met, something about your personal
ad caught my attention, and in this case I think it
might be worth the effort. I am 35 living in the South
Bay.

I could go on to give you more "facts" about myself,
like my height (5’10”), etc, but I have a feeling that
most of the other men who responded to your ad just
gave you a list of facts about themselves, in the
hopes that you might see something you like. That's
not what I am about. Physical attraction does count
for something to me, sure, so knowing some of the
measureable facts about a person is important. The
thing is, I learned my lesson long ago about women who
go through their lives with *only* their looks to open
doors for them, so for me it takes more than just that
to create something truly amazing when two people meet.
What's it like for you when you feel a strong
connection with a person, that click where you let
down your walls and start to feel truly comfortable
around a person? Now, with me, that's more important
than any measureable facts, so its one of the things I
look for in someone I choose to spend my time with.
Also, that sense of excitement, that rises up from
your stomach and fills you with awareness, you become
alert, energized, ready for anything because you KNOW
something exciting is about to happen.

I enjoy meeting new people, and something about your
ad makes me think you might be someone I'd like to get
to know better. I have only one word of warning. I do
not use a computer with AOL on it, and in fact I only
check my email once or twice a week. I'm not a big fan
of email anyways, as it is difficult to determine
people's true intentions and discover how well you
connect with them through simple words on a page. So,
if you want to limit yourself to screening men through
IM conversations and long email exchanges, I suggest
you look elsewhere. If you're the sort of person who
only wants the safe, online flirtatious fantasy of
someone to fulfill your boredom or build up your
flagging ego after a rough break-up, I am not the man
for you. I am only interested in meeting a woman, who
is intelligent enough to recognize an opportunity when
it comes her way, and adventurous enough to set aside
her hesitations and take that opportunity. If you
think you are this woman, then it could be fun to talk
over the phone or over coffee and explore how much we
might really enjoy each other. Write me back and tell
me what steps we should take in order to do that.

Chris
