I used to use Agent. I don't know what version you're using but I recall it's under one of the preference menus. I seem to recall the early versions (.99) only supported 1 server at a time...

I don't see it under preferences - I have the commercial version of Agent. I still don't know how I am going to do this. I don't like using the Webbased way into your system. Any other suggestions? another free newsreader? David Johnson http://mindiscovery.itgo.com NLP & SS johnsonhold...@purpleturtle.com We only learn from failure...

All Agent versions allow only one server at a time. DJ can either start a new version of Agent, which means
1) Make a new Data directory in the Agent directory. Label it "Data2".
2) Make a new desktop shortcut. Label it "Agent2".
3) Under "properties" on the shortcut, set your new DATA2 dir as the "Start In" directory.
4) Click the shortcut and open the new instance of Agent. Set up the options. Use 216.112.43.174 as your server.

LOL... dude, I'm sure the preference is in there somewhere. A Google search might get you the answer. But if you get too frustrated, do a Google search for the Gravity newsreader. Although my own preference is Netscape Communicator's newsreader, I've been playing with Gravity and it seems pretty nice. I especially like it's incredibly powerful filtering features...
BTW, DJ, dmz has integrated the chat console from my site into his site (layreport.com). It's got an IRC backend to a third-party service and is easily set up (just look at the HTML source on my web site on the chat page & download any class files needed). It would be interesting to have your site also simulataneously host the same chat room. It builds on the momentum of all of our chat members combined, fueling an awesome chat solution where there's always bound to be people online.
Free, easy to use, and you can set up multiple news servers. I have 4 servers configured in, and can switch between them with a mouse click.

Alright, I'll do it - might be interesting. Might need some help if I can't get it going, but I will try on my own.

create another directory ie. c:\agent\form's server\ copy all the program files, including agent.exe, agent.hlp, *.cod, main*.clx, and main*.tlx. run the agent.exe file in your new directory when you start up the program go into options under user and system profile click the system tab where it says news server type in discussion.fastseduction.com then click the user tab... click the login with user name and password then put your username and password in there
after that, refresh the groups and voila when you wanna connect to form's server use the agent.exe in that directory when you wanna do your other shit use the old one

All what groups? Free or pay?
If you mean how to access the moderated ASF groups, they're ONLY available through my server. If you're talking about all of public USENet, look at giganews.com for a third-party feed for $10-12/mo.

So there's no way besides paying for it? That's what I was wondering... I wouldn't really use the ones other than the ones I have right now for it to be worth it. That didn't come out right

news.cis.dfn.de is free and carries just about every group except the sex and binary ones.
