Subject: Media in Lockstep with Despicable Bias

As I understand it, after the capture of Mazar-e-Sharif about 600 foreign
Taliban troops were holed up in a school outside of the town. They were
surrounded by Northern Alliance troops and told to surrender or die. A
handful surrendered and were taken away and imprisoned. The remainders were
given a last chance and then were destroyed by tank fire. Then the Red Cross
went in to bury the bodies.
If those are the facts, (and no one disputes them) then why is the media
bent on portraying the NA as butchers?
Notice the way in which they lie and "bend" the truth. What is their
objective? Certainly it is not the truth, or anything close to the truth.

AP:
"The foreigners fear a repeat of the summary executions that followed the
alliance's takeover of Mazar-e-Sharif and Kabul, the capital. In Geneva, the
Red Cross said Thursday it had recovered 400 to 600 bodies in Mazar-e-Sharif
but would not say whether they were killed in fighting or executed

REUTERS:
"Foreign fighters' fears of retribution will not have been allayed by the
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), which said up to 600 bodies
had been found in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif after its capture two weeks ago
by the Alliance.
"Yes, we've been talking to both the Northern Alliance and the (U.S.-led)
coalition about our concerns over Kunduz," ICRC spokesman Bernard Barrett
told Reuters.
"There have been stories of executions and that would be a concern too
because summary executions are clearly prohibited under the Geneva
convention."

CNN:
(headline) Hundreds killed' after Mazar-e Sharif takeover

TERMEZ, Uzbekistan (CNN) -- Northern Alliance fighters have killed as many
as 600 people since they seized the northern Afghan city of Mazar-e Sharif
on Friday, Western officials in the Uzbek border town of Termez have told
CNN.
"CNN has not been able to independently confirm this information, but
Western officials who have daily contact with personnel in Mazar-e Sharif
say that the majority of those killed are Pakistani and Kashmiri fighters as
well as family members of Chechen fighters who have sided with the Taliban
forces in Afghanistan. Western officials say about 100 men are in custody."

As you understand it? BY what avenue, through what source? You have informants
on the scene? CIA connections? Or could it be that your information came to you
via (*shudder*) the MEDIA!? If so, then the hated "media" (newspapers,
magazines, television, radio, billboards, newsletters, books, records, tapes,
videos, etc.) must actually be telling enough TRUTH to allow you to form your
opinion that it's all LIES. To condemn all media, you imbecile, you also
condemn the basis of your own misbegotten beliefs. Or could it be that once
your meager intellect is stoked to its own comfort level, you simply deflect
any excess information as heresy. (No, you numbskull, that last word is not
"hearsay.")
