Quicksilver is the easiest remailer tool to use, but, you
/do/ have to know how the remailer system works, to use it.
Quicksilver is a graphic interface for Mixmaster. Mixmaster
processes outgoing messages, so that they will travel through a
chain of remailers, removing any trace of your identity as the
sender.

Mixmaster is /highly/ secure when used properly. Clue: Increase
the number of asterisks in the "Chain" line (top of new message)
to look like this:

Chain: *,*,*,*,* copies=3

This will chain your message through three unique paths with
5 remailers in each; the odds of at least one making it all
the way to the intended recipient are somewhat over 98%.

Quicksilver home site: http://www.theinternet.cc/quicksilver/

The files you want:

QS.9b20.3.exe
QS.9b20.3.exe.sig

Test the signature, install Quicksilver, then use it to download
and install Mixmaster. You should be reading the help menu and
figuring out how to download current remailer keys and
performance data in 20 minutes or less, and ready to send your
first anonymous test messages within a couple of hours max.

WARNING: If you send remailer messages from inside a country
where Internet use is monitored to stop illegal political
activitiy, your messages /will/ be noticed, because they will
all be encrypted and addressed to known remailers. Every
message passes through your ISP mail account on the way out.
It is not practical to use public kisoks or cyber cafes to
send Mixmaster messages.

PGP can't help you with that problem. There are solutions but I won't
discuss. I believe in privacy, but not "total anonymity". When human
nature changes, then so will my opinion.

PGP will not help you mask the origin of an email. For that you would need
to use remailers. First familiarise yourself with PGP, as it is involved in
the operation of remailers. Then read the FAQ for the newsgroup
alt.privacy.anon-server. That can be found at
http://www.eskimo.com/~turing/remailer/FAQ/
