The name is Scottish in origin, and anyone having this spelling is
related in some way back to the 18th century. There are two main
groups, one from the lowlands and the other from the higlands of
Scotland. Many of the Goudie's came over from Scotland to join General
Montcalm in his fight against the English general Wolf in Quebec.
Therefore alot of Goudie's are now Quebecois or living as French
Canadian in other parts of Canada. Others ended up in the U.S.
As a Goudie direct from Scotland and last of my particular line, I
would be interested to hear the story of origin from others.
