I've done a lot of speculating in the arena of abstract temporal concepts
for the duration of my existence, and have come to one realization that is
impossible to state plainly in linear language. It explains the Arrow of
Time, but only if you can delineate your train of thought so that it can
run in either temporal direction. It is this:

"We perceive the world as if it is united in a single moment of time, but
scattered over a vast region of space. The reality of it is that the world
is united in a single point of space, but scattered over a vast region of
time."

That's it. The arrow of time in a nutshell. It is a phenomenon caused by
our interpretation of what we are perceiving. Yet it's inevitible for a
perceiving organism to evolve any other type of perception on the matter.

To be able to state it in plain English (or any other human language) would
be wonderful, but it can't be done. Language is linear, this reality is
not. :-/

"inevitible"? Oy, surely as freudian a slip as one could make. I meant
"impossible" - it is impossible for an organism to evolve any other type of
perception on the matter. For such is an organism - an awareness housed in
a structure which is only meaningful in one temporal direction.
