I realised that before 15th of Dec 2005 and stopped processing wu's
on 23rd of same month, after Seti Classic stopped.
You are absolutely right when saying that this certainly is not the SETI
project
that you used to know.
Boinc still stink.

Running a Acer Aspire desktop with a Q6600 2.4 quad core. Seti increases
temperature by a significant amount. Temps increased to about 80c for each
core, with an overall cpu temp of about 75C. Installed three more highspeed
fans which has reduced the temp down to the 50c mark.
The problem is clearly the desktop size as such is in a small case, and

I'm sorry that you are having problems, tho, many, many others are
running Seti without issues.
What operating system?
If windows, in an administrator account, Control panel, add/remove
programs, select Boinc to remove. Then delete the sub directory(s), and
you are done.

As other's have already mentioned, CPU temperature depends on quite a few
variables, including the cooler used, but also the case you've mounted the
computer in.
Anyway, with that in mind, I'm running SetiBOINC 24/7 on a Q6600,
WinXPSP3Pro, 1 app / core. Cooler is a Thermalright Ultra120 Extreme, Case

I thought I would restart SETI@Home on my nice new system. But I soon
found that the new programme is nothing like the proper SETI@Home that I
was using in 1999.
This BOINC thing is riddled with problems and I want it off my system.
When I went looking for the uninstall routine
I couldn't find it.

It all depends on the configuration of the cooling system in your
particular computer chassis and the ambient temperature. Without that
information, any comparison is meaningless.
